p>
SHL
SHL
SHL
Verbal
Reasoning
Verbal Rea
soning
Verbal
Reasoning
True, False
和
Cannot Say
SHL
SHL
True
是、
False
否、
Cannot
Say

SHL
/p>
Verbal Reasoning
Verbal Reasoning
Verbal Reasoning
Fiction
Non-fiction
Verba
l Reasoning
SHL
: Scientific American
p>
Gregory Mankiw
的
Principles of
Economics
Richard
Dawkins
、
Desmond
Morris
、
Jared Diam
ond
;
2.
almost
改成
all
,
a
改成
the; 3.

A divide has emerged between those
supporting and those opposing active forest
management
as concerns about the
environmental problems resulting from
deforestation have increased.
There is
currently a large volume of research regarding the
management of forest ecosystems,
tree
breeding and the selection of species and
varieties. This was partially related to the
passing
of forestry laws in the
majority of Western nations in the 20th century
which was in response to
growing
conservationist social ideals and the
technological advances of logging companies.
Reforestation is one way to apply
modern forestry whereby trees are planted and
cultivated in a
designated area.
Further to this, damage to property, human injury
and even death can be
prevented with
the application of good forestry.
Question : Modern forestry can be used
to aid planting and reforestation.
True
False
Cannot Say
True
: Reforestation is
one way to apply modern forestry whereby trees are
planted and cultivated in a designated
area.
Question: Good forestry
cannot prevent loss of human life.
True
False
Cannot Say
False
: Further to this,
damage to property, human injury and even death
can be
prevented with the application
of good forestry.
Question: Reforestation is the most
important aspect of modern forestry.
True
False
Cannot Say
Cannot Say

Crude oil from regions
around the Dead Sea was used as early as 1000 BC
for ancient Egyptian
mummification, but
it wasn't until 1853 that the process of oil
distillation was discovered and
we saw
the advent of the modern history of oil. The first
oil mine was constructed the following
year.
Oil
quickly took over from coal as being the world's
principal fuel in the mid 1950's. Oil
is now used to run the vast majority of
vehicles and is a key ingredient in many chemicals
used
in industry.
However, concerns have been raised that
as oil is a limited resource its usage as an
economically viable energy source will
eventually come to an end. There is also worry
that
using and treating oil has major
impacts upon the environment, like the carbon
dioxide released
when it is burnt and
the contribution of this to global warming.

Question :
Global warming has been linked to the burning of
oil.
True
False
Cannot Say
True
Question: In the
modern history of oil, it took more than two
centuries for oil to replace
coal as
the major source of energy.
True
False
Cannot
Say
False
,
因此为
“否”
。
Question:
The
discovery
of
the
process
of
oil
distillation
has
drastically
changed
the
modern world.
True
False
Cannot
Say
Cannot Say
/p>
区别:
Question: Today, all cars are powered
by oil.
True
False
Cannot Say
False
原文:
Oil is now used to run
the vast majority of vehicles
…
(vast majority)
(
all
Question: Oil is only
used as an energy source.
False
原文:
Oil is now used to run
the vast majority of vehicles and is a key
ingredient in many
chemicals used in
industry.
only used
Minimum wage policies,
first introduced in the service industry and
leading to a reduction in
employee
exploitation, were the result of numerous studies.
The studies confirmed that a
national
minimum wage is an important parameter in employee
security, and campaigners were
rewarded
with key backing from worker’s unions.
This provided the support required to drive
through Employment Relations programmes
in many agricultural and industrial sectors,
culminating in the creation of the Low
Pay Commission. This has been vital in attracting
collaboration from major corporations
which have previously resisted the pressure to
improve
income stability.
Question:
The Low Pay
Commission has played an important part in
obtaining support
from large companies.
True
False
Cannot Say
True
This
。这个
This
important part
和原
文中的
vital
;
support<
/p>
collaboration
6
Question:
Employee
exploitation is the key
concern of most
workers’ unions.
True
False
Cannot Say
Cannot Say
key
key
Question:
The creation of
the Low Pay Commission was the first step in the
process of
agricultural and industrial
minimum wage policies.
True
False
Cannot Say
Cannot Say
firs
t step

Communication
technologies are far from equivalent. A recent

It

Molecules in the body of the water are

of

of

that

quarterly

and
tangible

become paramount in this paradox,
emergent (strategic) issues are often lost.
The urgent presents itself
in tangible shape and form, whereas the emergent
is subtler in its
appearance.
Entrepreneurs need to pre-sense emergent reality,
thus they require more than
ordinary
attentiveness.
However,
information
consumes
the
attention

the
recipient,
and
urgent
information
is
by
nature
more
demanding
of
attention

emergent.

it

an
awareness

urgency

Scientists believe we are experiencing
a dramatic change in the overall climate system,
verified
by the 10-15 cm rise in sea
levels over the last 100 years and the increases
in severe weather
conditions. Although
climate change occurs naturally, scientists
believe human activities have
led to
increased carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous
oxide concentrations, leading to climate
changes and, in turn, observed
increases in sea levels, atmospheric temperatures,
and erratic
weather systems. This means
that today’s climate shift differs dramatically

In
casual
language,
the
terms
theory
and
model
are
often
used
interchangeably.
From
a
technical
point of view there is an important difference.
Theories provide a general framework,
but because of the generality of the
specification, a theory cannot be shown to be
useful or
useless until it is fully
specified in the form of a model. A model, on the
other hand, needs by
definition
to
be
formulated
within
the
concepts,
along
with
a
set
of
assumptions
about
the
concepts and their relationships. The
appropriateness of a model must then be evaluated
with
respect to a particular set of
test data. The evaluation may be done by
conducting a suitably
designed
set
of
empirical
investigations,
by
rational
inspection
of
the
model
assumptions
in
relation to the test data, or ideally
both.
In the strict sense,
all models provide incomplete representations of
the data to which they to
fitted.
Therefore the meaningful question is not whether a
model is correct or incorrect, but
rather
whether
the
model
fits
the
data
well
enough
to
be
useful
in
guiding
the
process.
Statistical evidence and judgment play

this system has raised a decade ago when it was

A dependable

Perhaps there was a time
when the calling of the manager and that of the
leader could be
separated. A foreman in
an industrial-
era factory didn’t have
to give much thought to what
he was
producing or to the other people who were
producing it. His or her job was to follow
orders,
organize
the
work,
assign
the
right
people
to
the
necessary
tasks,
coordinate
the
results, and ensure the
job was done as ordered. The focus was on
efficiency.
But in the new economy,
where value comes increasingly from a knowledge of
people, and
where workers are no longer
undifferentiated cogs
in an industrial
machine, management
and
leadership
are
not
easily
separated.
People
look
to
their
managers
not
just
to
assign
them a
task but to define its purpose. Moreover, managers
must organize workers not just to
maximize efficiency but to nurture
skills, develop talent and inspire results.

a
modern
manager
are
more

Seen as a new player in the global
economy, Bitcoin has been the focus of serious
debate in
the
past
few
years.
Although
not
acknowledged
by
any
country
as
an
official
currency,
Bitcoin
is
recognized
and
used
as
a
currency
in
e-trading
worldwide,
with
a
cap
of
21
million
Bitcoin units total. Authorities and financial
experts alike have been dumbfounded
by
the arrival of this new element and are currently
struggling to adjust their mindset and to
devise appropriate regulations to deal
with it. How can a country properly tax gains
accrued
on a non-official currency? How
can an expert make a prediction regarding Bitcoin
when
there is no consensus regarding
its status? These are just a few of the questions
that arise
regarding the issue. Bitcoin
has been the cause of great concern on the part of
banks as well,
due
to
its
potential
status
as
a
competing
currency.
Most
of
the
problems
facing
these
various
players
in
the
economy
are
compounded
by
the
potential
of
criminal
elements
dealing in e-trade, a matter that has
brought about the adoption of new legislation.

The Labour Party has
decided to recover its public profile in the
coming election in certain
areas where
they were outperformed by the Liberals. Their
campaign will include television
advertisement as well as a press
campaign. Four stimulating TV advertisements have
been
produced. These will be screened
alternately in their designated locations on a
daily basis
for an initial period of
eight weeks that might be extended if deemed
necessary. This rule
would
apply
to
the
press
campaign
as
well.
The
image

the
party
as
reflected
in
the
television campaign is
to be consistent with the one reflected in the
press campaign. Both
campaigns will aim
to communicate the party's trustworthy spirit. A

the
effectiveness
of
this
campaign

will

provide
direction for future
campaigns.

The words
efficiency and effectiveness are often considered
synonymous, along with terms
like
competency,
productivity
and
proficiency
–
erroneously
so.
In
order
to
distinguish
between
effectiveness
and
efficiency,
we
must
first
define
these
terms.
Effectiveness
is
‘doing the right thing’,
i.e
. conducting the right activities
and applying the best strategies
needed
for competitive advantage. From a process
viewpoint, it is producing the required
outputs and outcomes; in other words -
meeting objectives. Efficiency is
‘doing the thing
right’
–
it
defines
whether
processes
are
completed
while
using
the
least
amount
of
resources in the shortest time
possible. These simple definitions point to a
clear distinction
that has substantial
implications for businesses large and small that
arise from the inherent
difficulty in
balancing both efficiency and effectiveness.
28.
A
manager
who
aspires
to
be
efficient
must
make
sure
processes
are
completed within minimal time and
resources.
