Captain Comet AND THE Purple Planet

《科密特船长和紫色星球》

1 Spanner is bored

斯潘纳无聊了

It was a quiet morning at Stardust Space Station.

在星尘号空间站，一个宁静的早晨。

Captain Stella was checking the space shuttle.

史黛拉船长正在检查太空穿梭机。

Captain Comet was watering the plants and Spanner the robot was bored.

科密特船长在给植物浇水，机器人斯潘纳觉得无聊了。

‘Can I sit at the control desk?’he asked.

“我能坐到控制台那儿吗？”他问道。

‘All right,’said Captain Comet,‘But don’t touch anything and don’t press

th

at red button.’

“可以”

，科密特船长说，

“但是不要 碰任何东西，也不要按那个红色的按钮”

Spanner sat down at the desk and looked at all the buttons.

扳手坐在了控制台前，看着上面的各种按钮。

There were buttons to open all the space station doors and buttons to turn on

all the lights.

有开空间站所有门的按钮，也有开所有灯的按钮。

There was even a button to flush all the toilets!

甚至有个按钮控制所有冲刷马桶的。

There was also a big red button,labelled‘Gravity’.

还有 一个红色的按钮，上面标注着“重力”

。

Spanner was not sure what ‘Gravity’was.

斯潘纳不明白这个“重力”是怎么回事。

‘I’ll press it very quickly,’said Spanner,‘to see what it does.’

，斯潘纳说，

“看看它到底是什么”

He pressed the red button.

它按下了红色按钮。

Captain Comet was watering the plants when he had a strange feeling.

科密特船长正给植物浇着水，忽然有了奇怪的感觉，

He was floating above the floor!The plant pots were all floating,too.

他从地板上飘了起来，植物也飘了起来，

He guessed what had happened.

他猜到发生了什么事。

‘Spanner!he shouted ,‘I told you not to touch that red button!’

“斯潘纳 ”

，他大叫，

“我跟你说过，不要按那个红色按钮”

Spanner saw that gravity was what made things stay on the floor.

斯潘纳看到了，原来重力就是使物体留在地板上的东西。

There was no gravity in space,so the space station made its own.

由于太空没有重力，于是空间站自己制造了重力。

Spanner pressed the red button to make the gravity come back on again-and all

the pot plants fell to the floor.

斯潘纳按了下红色按钮使 重力恢复，所有的盆栽植物跌回到了地板上。

Comet fell to the floor beside R!’Comet groaned

.

科密特也跌回地板上，落到植物的旁边。< /p>

“斯潘纳”科密特抱怨道

It must be a plant

那一定是个星球

Spanner was cleaning up the mess for the rest of the morning.

早上接下来的时间，斯潘纳都在清理刚才制造出的一地狼藉。

When he turned the cleaner off,everyone heard a beeping noise was

coming from the space scanner.

当他关掉吸尘器，

每个人都听到了哔哔的噪音，那个噪音声来自太空扫描仪。

Everyone stopped what they were doing and came to look.

每个人都停下了手里的活过来查看。

‘The scanner has found something,’said Comet.

“扫描仪发现东西了”科密特说。

He pointed to a flashing dot that was moving across the scanner screen.

他指着一个正在扫描仪屏幕上移动的闪烁光点。

‘I wonder what it is ?’said Captain Stella.

“那是什么”

，史黛拉船长说

‘Is it an asteroid?’asked Spanner.‘An asteroid is a lump of rock that floats

in space.’

“是颗小行星 吗？”

，斯潘纳问道，

“一颗小行星就是一块在太空飘浮的石头 ”

‘I know that!’said

Captain Comet.‘Anyway ,it’s too big to be an asteroid,’

“我知道！

”

科密特船长说，

“不过，它太大了，不可能是一颗小行星”

。

‘Then it must be a planet,’Spanner said.

“那它肯定是个星球”斯潘纳说。

‘Where has it come from?’asked Comet,’And why is it moving so fast?’

“它来自哪里呢？”科密特说，

“它为什么移动的这么快？”

‘You’d better go and have a look,’said Captain Stella.

“你们最好去看看”

，史黛拉船长说。

科密特和斯潘纳坐着太空穿梭机出发去寻找那个新星球。 斯潘纳非常的兴奋。

‘I’ve never found a new planet before,’he said .‘What shall we call it ?’

“我以前从来没有找到过一个新星球”
