二、中西方龙的对比




1.



“Chinese dragon” “loong”




In order to distinguish the Chinese dragon “

Origin of Chinese Dragon


Some scholars believe that dragon originated from totems of different tribes in


ancient China.


Some suggest that it comes from a stylized depiction of existing animals, such


as snakes, fish or crocodiles.

五、龙生九子



We always say that Dragon has nine sons.


所谓龙生九子, 并非龙恰好生九子。中国古代传统文化中,往往以九来表


示极多,而且有至高无上的地位 。九是个虚数,又是个贵数,所以用来描


述龙子。




People didn't know too much about the Nine Dragons until


Ming Dynasty.


Several Ming Dynasty texts list the Nine Children of a Dragon, which feature


prominently in Chinese architectural and monumental decorations.
