a/an
a/an
few, many= a
number of, a great/good many, a great many

Man
–
men,
woman-
women,
foot-
feet,
tooth-
teeth,
mouse-
mice,
child-
children,
emphasis(
强调
)-
emphases
注:以
man
p>
man
变成
men
如:
Englishman- Englishmen, Frenchman-
Frenchmen, dustman- dustmen
但
German- Gemans, human-
humans
Deer, sheep, fish,
works,(
工厂
) means(
), Chinese, Japanese,
Swiss, bellows(
风箱
), series,
crossroad,
horsepower
:
yuan, li, jin,
dollar- dollars, pound- pounds,
metre-metres
a
(
an
。
Clothes, glasses, trousers, compasses,
scissors(
)
等
A pair of glasses, two suits of clothes
A pair of glasses is on the table
Two pairs of glasses are on the table
3)
Police, people, cattle
4)
Family,
class, group, team, party,
public
The team
is made up of 12 members
The team are
having a bath now
My family is going to
move to Paris
My family usually watch
TV after supper
5)
passer-by
变成
passers-by, grown-
up
变成
growns-up,
father
–
in
–
law
变成
fathers -in
–
law, boy student-
boy students
6)
以
s
: the New York
Times, the United Nations, the United States
The United States is
a highly developed country
The Alps are
in Europe
7)
‘s
或
s
,
如
There are two
f‘s in the word ”office”
Many VIPs are coming to our city
8)
<
/p>
shoes
)
trousers
)
There are twenty boy students in our
class
They are his girl friends
Trouser pockets
注意:
a)
当
sports, customs, arms,
clothes, sales
和
accounts
A sports
car
a customs
officer
arms
production
a clothes
shop
a
salesgirl
an accounts
department
b)
但当
man, woman
/p>
man
和
woman
A woman doctor,
two women doctors; a man teacher, two men teachers
A piece of advice/ work/ news/ meat/
coal/ music
A cup of tea/ coffee/
water/, two bottles of milk, a bag of rice
A set of furniture, two drops of water
注意:
1.
p>
News, maths, physics,
politics
of
A
cup of coffee
a coffee cup
?
‘s
属格
,或
of
属格
1.
‘s,
如
Mary’s
books, the boy’s girl friend
1)
如
果名
词以
s
’
The students’ desks, these girls’
mother
2)
‘s,
如
The Children’s
Palace, women’s clothes
3)
当
an
d
Tom and Mary’s books; Jean and my
sister’s books
4)
‘s,
如:
Tom’s and Mary’s
mother
;
John’s and Jean’s
photos
5)
表
医院、
p>
At
the doctor’s,
at the tailor’s, at the teacher’s, at the barber’s
2.
‘s
属格与
of
of
Newton’s laws,
the laws of
Newton; the rules of the
game
,
the game’s
rules
)
注:
a)
of
a photo of
the baby
b)
但当
’
p>
s
Of
< br>属格,如:
A doctor’s
degree
a teacher’s
book
of
The
doctor’s arrival= the arrival
of the
doctor
注:
a
doctor’s degree, a teacher’s book
the doctor ‘s arriv
al
表示
的是
“
the arrival of the doctor
3)
Car engines
are made in this
factory(
)
That car’s engine needs
repairing(
)
They are having afternoon
tea(
)
Yesterday’s afternoon tea has gone
bad(
)
