to

learning

English,

many

students

are

uncomfortable.

They

are

at

a

loss

what

to

learning

English.

am

exception.

But

I

find

it

interesting

to learn English when I explore the method to learn it.

The first class have a good expression on my mind. When

my English teacher read the words, I saw many classmates

writing down Chinese below the English words to remember the

pronunciation. So I gradually do that. One day, my teacher

this.

She

told

us

not

to

remember

the

words

in

that

way.

You should learn how to read the phonetic symbols is a good

thing help me learn English.

However, the pronunciation is still not accurate. When I

In order to

overcome

this

question,

I

learn

English

though

imitation.

Imitation includes many ways, such as listening to the tape,

standard

pronunciations

and

daily

conversation.

In

conclusion,

what

I

experienced

enables

me

to

learn

English well. The key to success is imitation.

Advantages of taking P.E. courses

Nowadays, many colleges cancelled the P.E. courses when

the students are facing the exams. Some colleges even don

have P.E. courses. I’m sorry about that. The P.E. courses is

the same importance as the other subjects. In my opinion,

taking

P.E.

courses

can

be

advantageous

to

all

college

students.

First, taking P.E. courses will make them learn valuable

communication and teamwork skills. When it comes to science

courses, the teachers help students develop their logic and

thoughts. However, the P.E. will make students communicate

with

each

other.

Besides,

it

will

request

students

to

cooperate

with others. In this way, the students will have the spirit of

teamwork.

Another

important

advantage

is

that

students

taking

natural

science

courses

can

handle

heavy

coursework

more

effectively. Similarly, they will increase efficiency in

studying

other subjects. In addition, when they facing the difficulties

and

hard

tasks,

they

won’t

be

afraid

of

these.

Moreover,

they

will

have

a

stronger

body

which

will

help

them

fight

everything.

In

short,

taking

a

P.E.

courses

at

college

can

benefit

students

in

developing useful

social

skills

as

well

as

better

coping

skills

for

their

stress

at

school.

What’s

more,

the

communication

and

teamwork

skills

will

be

a

great

help

for

their

future.

When it comes to college, adults always say it is a small

society which will help you develop yourselves.

Before I am admitted to Lan Zhou University, I was eager for

the crowded subway, college life in the metropolis, what a

wonderful

life!

However,

I

was

arranged

here

by

god.

I

was

sad

following my dream was shattered, I'm not satisfied with the

desolation

in

the

Northwest.

I

even

regretted

it.

Nonetheless,

I choose to accept this arrangement.

When I see the light in the library at six, the students who

are out until ten, I gradually feel the charm of this college.

I

also

have

been

one

of

them,

I

get

rid

of

the

laziness,

wearing

the stars with the moon.

I start a new life, I have more spare time so that I can take

part in varieties of activities, to broaden my horizons. I look

for my interests. I would sit in the classroom, learning the

major that I want to learn. I would lie in the sunshine of

dormitory. I would climb the Cui Ying mountains, breathe the

fresh air which I never have breathed before.

This is my college life. It brought me the life that I didn’t

have in

middle

high school. The middle high school gave me the

knowledge, but the college gives me the wonderful life.

Making a public speech

In my eyes, I am an introverted man. But I have wanted

to take part in an English speech contest in my high school.

However,

I

gave

it

up

finally

for

lack

of

courage.

Now,

I

regret

it.

So,

when

I

come

to

the

college,

I

make

my

mind

to

participate

in

an

English

speech.

I

make

it

thought

it

is

not

very

perfect as I had expected.

The other day, I practiced my speech a lot with notes for

my college life. I watched varieties of speech videos to learn

their tips and pronunciation. When that day came, I went up

to the platform with my heart beating faster. What’s worse,

I forgot the words I would to say. I was awkward at a loss.

My face was red. When I finished my speech, I c

ouldn’

t find

a

way

to

get

into

the

seam.

I

picked

up

the

notes

for

my CET4

test instead

of speech notes that day, but

I made it. Thought

it

is

not

better

than

I

expected,

I

challenged

myself

successfully.

It

is

my

fortune

which

will

help

me

grow

confidently.

In short, it’s my f

irst time that I have delivered English

speech in

public.

The three-minutes speech that

day

made me

realize that

people can always overcome their

odds if

they

are

motivated.
