c. simplify the descriptions. if there are ten

sentences describing a person or an object, it will be

enough to keep one or two in the summary.

d. eliminate all repetitions.

a

made

up

of

phrases

and

sentences

quoted from the original passage.

3.

should

follow

the

logical

order

of

the

original

passage.

not

be

4. the summary should be self- contained, that is,

it must convey the message of the original fully and

clearly, so that

no

standard

form

for

report.
