William
Shakespeare.
Although Shakespeare is very famous,
but we know very little about him.
The
scanty
facts
of
Shakespeare
’
s
life
come
down
to
us
from
three
sources: church and
legal records, folk traditions, and the comments
of his
contemporaries.
William
Shakespeare
was
born
on
April
23,
1564,
in
Stratford-on-Avon,
a
charming
little
town
in
Warwickshire.
His
father,
John
Shakespeare,
was
a
well
to-do
trader
in
wool,
hides
and
leathern
articles, and once
held the office of chief alderman, equivalent to
mayor.
At
the
age
of
seven
William
was
sent
to
the
grammar
school
which
he
attended for six years. He read widely
in the books current in his day and

“
small
Latin and less Greek.
”
When Shakespeare was fourteen, his
father fell into debt, and the boy
probably left school and became a
country schoolmaster, to help support
his family.
In
1582
Shakespeare
was
married
to
Anne
Hathaway,
a
farmer’s
daughter, who was
eight years older than him. They had three
children:
Susanna and the twins, Judith
and Hamnet. He went to London in 1586 or
1587, At that time the drama was
rapidly gaining popularity among the
people.
Shakespeare
lived
in
an
age
when
the
old
feudal
social
and
economic order was being
destroyed and a new capitalist was being born
and
when
London
took
a
leading
part
in
that
destruction
and
that
new
birth.
While leading the busy life of an actor,
Shakespeare worked hard
with his pen.
He revised old plays and wrote new plays.
In
1593
and
1594,
he
published
his
two
narrative
poem
Venus
and
Adonis
and
The Rape of
Lucrece
. His
Sonnets
were printed in 1609. His
genius
as
a
poet won
recognition from
his
contemporaries.
Shakespeare
then went on
creating career. He died on April 23, the
anniversary of his
birth,
in
1616,
and
was
buried
in
Stratford
Church.
He
created
a
lot
of
works in
his life: 38 plays, 154 sonnets and 2 long poems.

(III)Summary:
Katharine
the
Shrew,
was
the
eldest
daughter
of
Baptista,
a
rich
gentleman of padua. She
was a lady of such an ungovernable spirit and
fiery temper. So, it seemed impossible
that any gentleman would ever be
found
who would venture to marry her. And Baptista was
much blamed
for
putting
off
all
her
sister
Bianca’
s
suitors.
However,
one
day,
a
gentleman named Petruchio came to Padua
to look for a wife. He heard
that
Katharine
was
rich
and
handsome,
deciding
to
marry
her
and
tame
her
into
a
meek
and
manageable
wife.
He
was
a
witty
and
most
happy-tempered
humorist, and so wise, and of such a true
passionate and
furious
deportment.
Then,
Petruchio
went
to
Katharine
’
s
father
for
his
daughter
’
s love.
When he first met Katharine, he prided her and
called her
amiable.
After Katharine received him, they
decided to get married with each
other.
At
their
wedding
party,
Petruchio
appeared
late
and
behaved
impolitely.
After
they
arrived
home
from
wedding
party,
Petruchio
welcomed her
kindly but he always found faults with everything
served to
Katharine.
Every
time
when
Katharine
was
eating
something,
he
would
say that
the food was awful and ordered the servants to
remove it away.
When Katharine wanted
to sleep, he found something fault with the bed,
throwing
the
pillows
and
bed
clothes
about
the
room.
But
he
pretended
that everything he
did was for Katharine. One day, he prepared food
for
Katharine
and
told
her
they
would
go
to
father.
Then
he
ordered
the
servants to take the dished away, and
told Katharine to see the clothes he
had chosen for her, which he would wore
in to her father. He had told the
tailor to make perfect clothes, and
Katharine loved them. But he said they
were bad. At last, they wore common
garments.
Petruchio meant that she
should be completely gentle and assent to
everything he said before they went to
her father. So,on their way to her
father,
he
said
to
Katharine
that
he
would
not
went
on
if
she
always
contradicted
to
him.
So,
Katharine
forced
to
be
obedient.
Whatever
Petruchio
said
she
would
approval.
When
Petruchio
said
the
sun
was
moon, and an old gentleman was a
beautiful girl, she did not refute him.
Everything he said Katharine would
agree.
After they arrived, Petruchio
bet with Lucentio and Hortensio that
weather their wives were obedient.
At last, Petruchio won because only
Katharine came out. Katharine was pride
and never be called shrew but as
