Traditional Custom in China
It is said that different parts of the
world have their unique
and traditional
custom. As for my country, China. It has a lot of
traditional customs which have survived
for thousands of years.
I
want
to
talk
about
some
traditional
customs
in
China,
especially
The
Spring-Festival
and
Tomb-Sweeping
Day,
because they are worthy to
be described and significant.
Maybe
you
have
known
Spring-Festival
before,
but
you
might not
have known any details about that significant
festival
as a traditional Chinese
event. China has two kinds of calenders:
the
Gregorian
Calendar
and
the
Lunar
Calendar.
As
we
know,
New Year Day is common around the world
as the beginning of
the
Gregorian
year.
Similarly,
the
Spring
Festival
is
the
beginning
of
Lunar
year.
It
is
unique
because
it
is
not
usually
celebrated by other countries. The
spring festival is
not only a
festival
which
makes
you
happy,
but
also
contains
hopes
and
warm,
since
when
it
comes,
all
the
relatives
come
back
home
and
stay together. I really look forward to this
festival because I
can be with the my
grandparents and other relatives. Every year,
we
buy
lots
of
presents
for
them
and
visit
them
from
another
cities. Moreover, it
is a must and we have a will to be with them,
since it is our tradition.
If you are not be with your relatives, you
will be considered unfilial and be
excluded by others. An idiom
in
China
says
a
small
gift
that
conveys
a
great
affection,
even
though it is
a long distance
to go. So, we not only bring them
gifts, but also warm and hopes to them.
Another details which is worthy to
remain is Chinese New
Year's Eve. As
for my family, we usually memorialize ancestors
firstly, and then we have a feast for
ourselves. That means my
mother
cooks
a
lot
of
Chinese
dishes
for
us.
When
twelve
o'clock come, we do
some firework. We show beautiful pattens
in the sky, which means we bring hopes
to others and wish they
have
a
good
beginning
of
the
new
year.
Meanwhile,
we
light
lanterns
and
send
them
to
the
sky
with
our
sincere
hopes
for
parents
and
ourselves.
Then,
we
enjoy
dumplings.
As
for
this
part, we put lots of
stuff into the dumplings like coins, tofu, and
sweet. We calculate who eat
most coins, tofu, and sweet most. If
you eat a lot of coins, you may be rich
next year. As for tofu and
sweet, that
means happiness. In the other hand, Spring
festival is
very warm, and we can feel
true love. It is the most important
