More and more
people believe that technologies are great for
learning. Today, such teaching tools as iPads are
used in a lot of courses, ___46___
language, history and science.
Many
teachers are ___47___ of using iPads in language
learning. They say that students now have much
more
time for discussion in the
classroom, ___48___ they can listen to texts or
watch teaching videos with iPads at home.
The
teachers
also

iPads

.
Using
iPads
is
especially
___49___ to
students who are learning a language at different
paces.
There are other advantages for
students. They believe that using iPads is a more
___50___ way to learn. The
class has
become much more interesting and creative. So they
can pay more ___51___ to the material and learn
more. Teaching notes are stored in
their iPads and are easy to find. Some students
spend more time studying now. “
I

my
language
materials
or
watch
teaching
videos
on
the
bus,
___52___
having
to
wait
until
I
get
home,” a student explained.
Many
adults
complain
that
technologies
such
as
iPads
are
___53___
to
students.
They
worry
that
students
might use iPads to
download teaching notes and use them to cheat
during exams. If a student spends more time
watching videos on an iPad, he will
have fewer chances to have face-to-face ___54___
with others.
However,
technologies
are
already
a
part
of
most
students?
daily
lives.
As
for
cheating,
teachers
can
ask
students
to
___55___
their
iPads
when
they

the
times
as
technology

part.

Jack was a skilled artist

.
Thinking it was only some common

Knowing

if
he

only
realized
the
seriousness
of
the
situation,
Jack
always felt guilty. His
wife left him a short time later, leaving him
alone with his six year-old younger son. The hurt
and pain of the two situations were
more than that Jack could stand, so he turned to
alcohol
(酒)
for help. Later,
Jack began to lose everything he had
—
his land,
house, etc. Finally Jack died alone in a small
bar. Hearing of
Jack?s death, I
thought, “What a totally wasted life! What a
complete failure!”
As time
went by, I
knew Jack?s younger son
w
ho grew into an adult, Ernie. He is
one of the kindest and most
loving men
I have ever known. I saw the love between Ernie
and his children, thinking that kindness and
caring had
to come from somewhere. One
day, I asked him what his father had done so that
he became such a special person.
Ernie
said quietly, “As a child until
I left
home at 18, Jack came into my room every night,
gave me a kiss and said,
?love you,
son?.”

Don?t wash your
hair every day. Here?s why:
It will be easier to style. If you?ve
ever washed your hair just before going to the
salon to get another better
look,
you
will
be
told
by
the
stylist,
fr
eshly
washed
and
dried
hair
isn?t
as
easy
to
work
with
as
hair
that
was
washed a day or two ago.
Your color will last longer. If you
color your hair, washing daily can dull your color
and lead to more trips to
the salon.
Keep your hair looking bright by only washing
every other day. When you wash your hair, do so
with a
shampoo so that you can make
sure the color doesn?t lose.
It will be healthier. The more you wash
your hair, the more
you?re removing
your hair?s natural oil. That?s
right
—
too much time with the shampoo can
really mean your hair become less soft and
shining. Over-washing
can dry hair out,
which isn?t a good idea. Keep your hair healthy by
avoiding washing your hair every day.
Washing and drying take a lot of time
for those of us with long hair. By cutting back on
styling time, you will
have more time
to get ready, sleep or even fit in a quick jog or
trip to the gym.
(
)61. Before
going to the salon to style your hair, you?d
bett
er ______.
A. wash your
hair
B. not wash your hair
immediately
C. get a better look
D.
have a talk with a stylist
(
)62. What does the underlined word
“dull” most probably mean?
A. make ... sharper
B.
make ... slower
C. make ... less clear
D.
make ... less bright
(
)63. Over-
washing can ______.
A. give you a best
look
B. make your hair dried out
C. get your hair to be healthier
D. increase more natural
oils of hairs
(
)64. In the writer?s
opinion, washing hair daily is
______.
A. a waste of time
B.
necessary and important
C. a good way
of saving time
D. like
quick jog or trip to the gym
(
)65. The passage is mainly talking
about ______
A. not washing your hair
every day
B. how to get a fine
hairstyle
C. how to do hair care every
