一、助动词分为三类:

词组中起到语法作用。

情态助动词表示的意义可归纳为两类:推测性

下面就对情态助动词的推测性用法进行分析:

、从左至右可能性依次增大:
might, may, could, can, should, ought
to, would, will, must
2
、做推测性
用法的情态助动词不论是现在时形式还是过去时形式,也不管其
后的不定式是一般式,还
是完成体式,就说话人的主观看法总是以现在时
间为基点的。
eg:
A:
Who

B: That will be George, no doubt.
一定是
…
B: That would
be George, I expect.
我猜是
…
Would
只是表示口气,对说话人而言时间还是指的现在。

对不受时限的客观过程的推测,比如真理,常识。
