History:
GM's predecessor
Buick Company
was
founded by David Buick
in
1907
.
In
1908
,American largest coach
maker
William C Durant
bought the Buick Company and
became the
general manager
of the
company at the same time ,it
issued
the C-type
car
. Till 1908,
Buick Company has become the major car maker. In
the
same year
,
Durant
set up an automobile
holding company
on the basis of the
Buick Company
and the Ozzy Motor
Company --
General Motors
(GM)
Business
area:
GM mainly
designs,
manufactures and distributes vehicles and sells
financial services
. Its car
production is the classic representative
characteristics of
American
luxury
cars
,
spacious, comfortable interior, speed
and large reserve power
.
It
produces vehicles in
37 countries
under
13 brands
.

GM before
its collapse:

Motors
shed several brands

closing
Saturn, Pontiac and
Hummer
, and emerged from a
government-backed
Chapter 11
reorganization
. In
2010, the
reorganized GM made an initial public offering and
returned to profitability
later that
year.
