Endowed with different talents, every
individual contributes to our
society
in different ways, so to treat every student
equally is a common
practice
in
most
schools
today.
However,
many
schools
are
now
entertaining
the
idea
that
students
should
be
selected
and
educated
together
according
to
their
evels

academic
intelligence.
Generally,
I
believe
that
schools
should continue with
their traditional strategy.

It
is
true
that
teaching
intelligent
students
together
might
improve
their
study
efficiency
to
some
extent,
as
being
in
a
competitive
learning
environment, their potential abilities
in academic studies could be
developed
as
much
as
possible.
But
schools
and
parents
should
also
realize
that
it is/quite dangerous to oversimplify the
situation here.
The top
priority of education at any level should be the
development
of one's personality and
morality. But what makes it a mockery is that
the separate teaching scheme usually
focuses on the academic studies of
students exclusively, so pupils are
evaluated only by theif performance
on
examinations.
Consequently,
instead
of
making
them
outstanding,
those
selected Children are
deprived of a normal but essential part of growing
is worse, those who are rejected from
studying with the gifted
studehts could
easily suffer psychological pressure from their

任何层次的教育的首要任务都应该是人格和道德的发展。
但是,
这是一种讽
刺,
因为单独的教学计划通
常只关注学生的学术研究,
所以学生的评价只能通过
if

Schools are needed because of their

范文
It
is
a
truth
universally
acknowledged
that
any
one
and
every
one
has
different talents. When it comes to
education, opinions differ as to
whether schoolchildren should be
grouped based on their abilities, some
wishing
intelligent
students
should
be
separated
from
ordinary
ones,
other
supporting equal
education should be obtained by all the students.
On
the
one
hand,
those
in
favor
of
streaming
students
generally
believe
that
this
could
improve
the
class
efficiency
and
learning
pace.
In
a
mixed
class,
higher-level students tend to feel complacent if
the tasks set in
class
are
inappropriate
for
their
level,
but
weaker
students
may
also
feel
frustrated as the tasks may be beyond
their capability. As for teachers,
it
is
more
convenient
for
them
to
choose
appropriate
materials,
activities
and pedagogic
strategies according to students’ levels.
Consequently,
teaching quality can be
guaranteed and a larger number of students could
enroll in university.
On the
other hand, others argue that this practice would
definitely
exert
detrimental
impacts
to
students’
dignity.
This
is
especially
true
of adolescents who might feel inferior
as it can be quite discouraging
to be
at the bottom of the top grade. The last result
teachers want to
see is that their
students are demotivated from study, which is
caused
by streaming. Contrarily,
students in mixed-ability classes could learn
from
each
other
and
develop
their
team
spirit.
Advanced
students
can
obtain
satisfaction
from
helping
lower-level
classmates.
In
fact,
our
education
is based on the
belief that each student could achieve integrated
development by developing not only
academic capacity but also personal
qualities and social skills which can
be contributed by mixed ability
teaching.
In conclusion, I
personally believe that although streaming is more
efficient for students to acquire
knowledge, more important is that
students
should
learn
to
co-
operate,
to
share,
and
to
develop
social
skills
which
play
a
more
essential
role
in
their
future
development.
Therefore,
mixed-ability
classes contribute more positively to a child's
psychological development.
