British football supporters have a particularly bad reputation so much so nine crimes

that only applied to the sport have been enforced. Elsa Ali finds find out why fans are

given

the

red

card.

Scenes

like

these

are

not

uncommon

during

football

matches.

Despite British football fans and hooliganism being considered synonymous abroad,

fans

here

say

that

the

troublemakers

are

few

and

because

of

them,

that

fans

are

all

being

treated

like

criminals.

The

sort

of

numbers

that

we're

dealing

with

here

38

million people were attending football matches last season

and there were eighteen

hundred and seventy arrests that sort of all that's a tiny tiny number. So most football

matches are trouble-free

arrest free. There's a few bad apples they need to be targeted,

but the behavior of fans is good. There are nine football-only crimes which wouldn't

be considered a criminal offence if committed anywhere outside of a football stadium.

They include encroaching on the pitch

drinking in view of the pitch or even reselling

or giving away a ticket. And if those weren't enough, fans are also subjected to special

powers.

Football

banning

orders

can

impose

restrictions

such

as

not

going

within

three miles of a football stadium on match days. Requirements to report to the police

station

at

designated

times

or

even

surrendering

your

passport

when

your

club

or

country

are

playing

abroad.

But

The

Home

Office

told

us

evidence

shows

the

legislation

has

proved

effective.

Levels

of

football

disorder

have

been

significantly

reduced since the introduction of football banning orders in 2000. But the policing is

always

proportional.

Some

fans

feel

like

they're

being

unfairly

targeted

by

government legislation forced by police forces up and down the country. We're here in

Millwall whose supporters say they're routinely

harassed by the authorities

week in

week

out.

Sometimes

it

starts

before

the

trouble

starts

you

know.

They're

trying

to

keep people in check sometimes it can cause more alceration. I have a lot of respect

for the police. Because they have a lot of tough job to do in these day. It's not their

fault. Sometimes they're told what to do by other people. At the end of the day, people

are just trying to watch a football game. And I think we gave more than most things.

Indeed

several

of

the

Millwall

fans

that

we

spoke

to

concede

that

they

have

a

bad

reputation. It was their supporters we saw at the beginning of the piece fighting with

Barnsley fans during the recent League One play-off final at Wembley. But what if the

police start arresting people for slightly less a crimes. As we were celebrating, I got

pulled out a crowd and you know I was arrested for common assault. Many football

fans

might

have

a

problem

sinking

their

teeth

into

laws

being

used

for

seemingly

bizarre charges.

But

it's

a tough time for police around football supporters after the

recent

hillsboro

ruling

and

worries

about

terrorism

are

heightened

as

the

Euro

Tournament

kicks

off

in

France

this

week.

There

is

no

doubt

there

will

be

on

the

highest alert. so maybe leave the inflatable sharks at home. Elsa Ali London.

QIMRBerghofer

The latest survey of the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia reveals that an

average of 35 percent of coral is now dead or dying in the northern and central

sections. Experts from James Cook University say it’s the most extreme case of mass

bleaching they have ever measured at the World Heritage in the last 30 years

or so, we’ve seen unprecedented episodes of mass bleaching that is very strongly

linked to global just describe specifically what happens then to the

coral as the temperature in the water corals get most of their colour from

the microscopic algae that live inside their tissues, the zooxanthellae. When the coral

is stressed, the zooxanthellae die back. And because they give the coral most of its

colour, when a coral is bleached, we can actually see the underlying carbonate

skeleton underneath the tissue. A bleached coral is a very sick coral because they are

compromised nutritionally because they get most of their energy from photosynthesis

by the algae.

And how serious is the situation in the Great Barrier Reef?

Severely bleached corals can die. And right now on the Great Barrier Reef, we’ve

seen unprecedented levels of coral mortality in the northern third of the Great Barrier

Reef. So we estimate that in the top half of the Great Barrier Reef on average, 35

percent of the corals are dead or dying. It’s much less than that in the middle and

southern section of the Great Barrier Reef. So in the north, many of the reefs w

e’ve

surveyed have already lost half of their coral cover.

And in the context of the Great Barrier Reef, how much of it is the responsibility of

the Australian government?

Well, the Australian government is responsible for stewardship of the Great Barrier

Reef. There has been some progress recently in dealing with issues like fishing

pressure and with water quality, but not at all really with climate change. So Australia

is hardly leading the world in terms of its greenhouse gas emissions which are pretty

I am Stewart Macintosh with the BBC News, hello. Eurozone finance ministers

agreed to unlock about 11.5 billion dollars in bailout fund to Greece after late night

talks in Brussels. They also agree to phase in debt relief in two-years-time, a key

demand of the Greek government and the International Monetary Fund. The ministers

said the progress has been made possible by Greece’s continued economic reforms.

The Greek Finance Minister, Euclid Tsakalotos, welcomed the deal. “It’s an important

moment for Greece after so much time we have now an agreement not only on the

review and structure measures, but on that the two were collided into one. ” If you

remember in the summer we agreed the first, to finish the first review, and then there

would be a discussion on debt, but these two things have collided, and now we have

an overall package. The Afghan Taliban says it has appointed a new leader following

the killing of Mansour by American drone strike on Saturday. The Taliban spokesman

named HaibatullahAkhundzada as

the movement’s new head. The Islamic State group

is facing two separate major offensives trying to push it from territories at holds in

Syria and Iraq. A Kurdish-led lines in north eastern Syria is trying to advance towards

the IS’s strong hold. While in

Iraq, government forces are continuing thereafter to

recapture the city of Fallujah. From Beirut, Clinton reports. Iraqi forces are continuing

their offensives against Fallujah, a city which has been under the tight control of the

so-called the Islamic State for more than two years. Iraqi commander said the

operation was going to plan, but IS has launched a number of counterattacks against

pro-government positions. Around hundreds of thousands civilians are thought to be

still inside the city. Over the border in Syria, another offensive against the IS is under

way. Kurdish troops are fighting to the north of the city where IS is headquartered.

The Syrian democratic forces, which also include Arab tribes, are bound by the

American air power and weaponry. Cuba's Communist government says it legalizing

small and medium sized private businesses. It’s the latest stage in a series of

economic reforms. Cander reports, Cuba has now officially recognized the non-state

sector, in one of the world’s last centrally plann

ed economies. The last reform allow

self-employment in several hundred job categories, many of these workers became

small businesses and employed others. Raul Castro has been trying to stimulate

Cuba's stagnate economies but the reforms face resistance from Cuban Communist

Party hardliners who fear it could undermine the single party system. The economy is

also opening up to foreign investment, with restriction last year of diplomatic

relations with the United States. World news from the BBC. The US Department of

Justice says it will seek the death penalty for Dylann Roof, a white man accused of

killing nine black parishioners at a historic church in South Carolina last June. Idina

has more details. 22-year-old Dylann Roof faces charges brought by both US federal

government and the state of South Carolina, he face 33 federal counts including hate

crimes and firearm ’s accused of holding white profuse abuse, authority

say he targeted the victims because of their race. America's top lawyer, US Attorney

General Loretta Lynch said the nature of the alleged crime and the resulting harm

compelled her decision to introduce death penalty in the federal case, who is also

charged with nine counts of murder in the state trators opposing Donald

Trump the presumptive Republic nominee for the US presidency have clashed with

police in the State of New Mexico where he was holding his latest tors

threw burning T-shirts carrying Trump campaign slogans along with stones and

plastic bottles. Police in riot gear responded with pepper spray and smoke grenades.

Inside the convention center, protestors repeatedly interrupted Mr. Trump before

being ejected by security guards. Some were arrested. Chilean students posing as

Santiago. Once the group of at least 20 got passed the entrance, they run to an

There’s gonna shop drop inantibioti
