1The Lion and the
Mouse
Lion was
awakened from sleep by a Mouse running over his
face.
Rising up in anger, he caught him
and was about to kill him, when the Mouse
piteously entreated,
saying:
you
would
only
spare
my
life,
I
would
be
sure
to
repay
your
kindness.
The
Lion
laughed and let him go.
It
happened shortly after this that the Lion was
caught by some hunters, who bound him by strong
ropes to the ground.
The
Mouse, recognizing his roar, came up, and gnawed
the rope with his teeth, and setting him
free,
exclaimed:
ridiculed
the
idea
of
my
ever
being
able
to
help
you,
not
expecting
to
receive from me any repayment of your
favour; but now you know that it is possible for
even a
Mouse to confer benefits on a
Lion.
Little friends may prove great
friends.

Then they come across an
elephant doing coke, so the rabbit again says,

do
you
do
this? Think
about
your
health.
Come
running
with us
through
the pretty
forest,
you'll feel so
good!
with the rabbit and giraffe.
The three animals then come across a
lion about to shoot up and the rabbit again says,
my friend, why do you do this? Think
about your health! Come running with us through
the sunny
forest, you will feel so
good!
The lion looks at him, puts down
his needle, and starts to beat the hell out of the
rabbit. As
the giraffe and elephant
watch in horror, they look at him and ask,
was merely trying to help us all!
The
lion
answers,
makes
me

around

forest
like
an
idiot

he's
on
ecstasy!

THE GOOSE THAT LAID THE
GOLDEN
EGGS
A
Man and his Wife had the good fortune
to possess
a Goose which laid
a Golden
Egg every day. Lucky though they were, they soon
began to think they
were not getting
rich
fast enough, and
imagining the bird must be
made
of
gold
inside,
they
decided
to
kill
it
in
order
to
secure
the
whole
store
of
precious metal at once. But
when they cut it open they found it was
just like any other goose. Thus, they
neither got rich all at once, as they
had hoped, nor enjoyed any longer the daily
addition to their
wealth.
Much wants more and loses all.

THE
CAT AND MICE
There was once a house
that was overrun with Mice. A Cat heard of this,

, madam, no doubt: but you may turn
yourself into a

If you are

THE
MISCHIEVOUS DOG
There was once a Dog
who used to snap at people and bite them without
any
provocation,
and
who
was
a
great
nuisance
to
every
one
who
came
to
his
master's house. So his
master fastened a bell round his neck
to warn people of his presence. The Dog
was
very
proud
of
the
bell,
and
strutted
about
tinkling
it
with
immense
satisfaction. But an old
dog
came up to him and said,
, my
friend. You don't think, do you, that
your bell was given you as a reward of merit?
On the contrary,
it is a
badge of disgrace.
Notoriety is often
mistaken for fame.
