i know you are interested in chinese traditional festivals. today

i?d like to share what i know about the dragon boat festival

with you.

the festival has a history of more than 2,000 years. it?s in

memory of quyuan, one of the greatest chinese poets. he killed

himself by jumping into the miluo river on may 5th of the lunar

calendar, 278bc.

on that day, people enjoy making zongzi, which is made of

rice with meat, eggs and so on. in the past we ate it only once

a year, but now we regard it as our daily food. we can have it

any time we like. besides, the dragon boat race is another

important part of this festival. several teams row their dragon-

shaped boats as fast as they can.

we all love the festival because it ?s a good reminder to look

back on history and a wonderful time to get together with

family.

calendar.) during the festival, family members get together and

the full moon in the dark sky. for people in xiamen, mooncake

gambling will take place in every mid-autumn festical.i like
