Yarn MUST have a high twist to prevent fibre shedding. This must be

considered when developing new styles for babies. Yarn quality for Pom

pom must be approved by NEXT Fabric Technologist.

2.1 Yarns Machine Attached to Fleece Strip (Applicable for

Newborn, Baby and Older styles)

将纱线车到一条绒布带子上。如下图示！

The following is an example which improves the security of both the yarn

and the entire pom pom, but is not a conclusive method. Suppliers can

come up with their own interpretation of this method. However, construction

method must be approved by the NEXT Technologist prior to production.

2.2 Yarns Machine Stitched for Security (Applicable to Older

Styles only)

大童款式可以用机器直接把毛线车住固定

The yarns are lock stitched through the centre of the yarn a number of

times (min 5 times). This is to prevent yarn loss is wear, which can lead to

returns and complaints.

3. OVERALL SECURITY OF ATTACHMENT

Each style needs to be assessed to ensure that the attachment is suitable

for the product and age group.

3.1 Pom Pom and Tassel Attachment

3.1.1 Newborn Styles

Pom poms on Newborn must be greater than 9cm. The position of

the Pom pom is restricted to the top of the hat (This is only permitted

on hats without a chin strap).

3.1.2 Baby Styles

Pom pom attachment MUST meet NEXT standards in production. The

factory must monitor attachment and ensure that there is consistency

across all production. Hand attachment may be accepted. However, each

attachment method needs to be assessed and agreed by the NEXT

Technologist BEFORE production commences.

3.2 Pom Pom Attachment to End of Plait (Not Applicable for

Newborn)

When it is not possible to secure the end of the plait with a knot. We require

the end of the plait to be lock stitched to hold all yarns and fibres securely.

Please follow diagrams below:-
