I absolutely love Bark magazine! I love
the “smiling” pages and
the tips on
every issue. I am a dog
lover and have
saved all of my dogs from either death row or from
people who were going to put
them down.
Everyone should have a chance to live and Bark

We
human
beings
haven’t
been
good
friends
to
animals.
For
thousands
of
years,
we
have
been polluting the
environment, making it hard for animals to live on
the planet. We have been
killing
animals for their fur, feathers or meat, or simply
because they are dangerous. As a result,
many kinds of animals have disappeared
forever. Hundreds more are on the endangered list
today.
Should we care about animals? Of
course we should. If animals of a certain kind all
disappear,
they will never come back
again. Animals are more than just resources of
things we need. Every
kind of animal
has its place in the balance of nature. Destroying
any kind of animal can lead to
many
problems. For example, when farmers killed large
numbers of hawks(
鹰
), the
corn and grain
that the farmers stored
were destroyed by rats and mice. Why? Because
hawks eat rats and mice.
With
less
and
less
hawks
to
keep
down
their
numbers,
rats
and
mice
multiplied(
繁殖
)
quickly.
And if people kill
too many birds, more and more insects will eat the
crops.
Luckily,
we’ve
realized
that
we
shouldn’t
kill
animals
any
more.
And
people

hard to save those animals that would
disappear soon. The government also passed laws to
protect
the endangered animals. In
fact, quite a few countries have passed such laws.
These laws forbid
the killing of any
kind of animal on the endangered list. We should
try our best to protect and save
the
endangered animals.
25. The text calls
on us to__________.
A. protect the
endangered animals.
B. find out more
about the balance of nature.
C. keep
animals grow quickly.
D. protect the
environment.
26. The example that
farmers killed hawks shows that__________.
A. there were too many rats and mice
B. animals are very beautiful and
interesting.
C. every kind of animal is
important in nature .
D. animals are
good food resources
27.
What is the author’s attitude towards
the future of endangered animals ?
A. Doubtful
B. Uncaring
C. Optimistic
D.
Negative

shop,no assistant will

In a bookshop an
assistant should stay in the background until you
have finished ,and
only then,are his

Once, a medical

Every afternoon,

a little of the book at a time.
One
day,
however,
he

disappointed

from
its
usual
place.
He
was
about to
leave, when he noticed the owner of the shop
beckoning to him. Expecting to be told off,
he went towards him. To his surprise,
the owner pointed to the book which was hidden in
a corner.
“I put it there in case
someone else bought it!”
he said, and
left the delighted student to continue
his reading.

Are you new to experiencing
relationships? Well
,
let me
give you advice on how to have a
healthy relationship with your
partners.
Be an honest person with
them. Don't hide things from
them
,
and don't lie. Don't be
afraid to
say things that aren't very
flattering about yourself. Getting them to trust
you is the most important
element in
any relationship. If there's no
trust
,
there's nothing there.
36
37
.Now
,
respect
isn't just simply treating them nicely. There' s a
lot more to it. You
have to learn to
adjust to their liking.
Basically
,
learn to study
your partners' moods,wants and
needs.
Don't just think about
yourself
,
but think about
what your partners need as well.
Make sure you are encouraging to your
partners. Always be willing to help them and
give
them honesty and
positive at the time. Make them feel you are
someone they can really count on
(
指望
)and build a
future with.
38
Make sure you have a good
sense of humor with them. Laughter is the key to
happiness.
Laugh a lot with
them
,
and joke with them.
Laughter may seem silly
,
but
it's the secret to a lot in
life. It
will keep the sparks alive.
39
Make
sure
the
communication
is
good.
This
usually
goes
along
with
trust
,
so
always
communicate
how
you
feel
even
if
it's
something
that
upsets
you.
40
If
they
did
something that made
you
unhappy
,
tell them about it
in a respectful manner
.
It's
important to
communicate this to
them
,
not to keep it bottled
up.
A. Make sure you give them
respect.
B. Laughter
keeps the relationship strong and lasting.
C. Your partners will be able to count
on you when necessary
D. Show them
your personality.
E. So please be
honest and they'll learn to open up to you.
F. Don't start to neglect them and make
them feel unwanted.
G
