If you’re looking for the thrill
of a lifetime, running with the bull should be
near the top of your
list!
The
running
of
the
bulls
takes
place
every
July
during
21
San
Fermin
Festival
in
Pamplona, Spain traditionally, the
public has an opportunity to run with the bulls
down a half--mile
stretch of cobbled
road, 22 ends in a bull fighting ring.
It happens at 8 AM every morning
for
a
week
straight
and
each
race
lash
two
to
three
minutes.
The
run
started
in
the
mid-1800s
23
officials would take the bulls from the
edge of town to the bull
ring
(圆形场地)
in the
center of the city. It was before long
24
people started to join
the bulls in the run.
There are plenty
of risks
25
(exist) this event. Participating in
the run means risking a
pile-up, which
can lead to injury or death of both the bulls and
the runners. With so many people
running in a panic, it can be complete
chaos out there.
26
As part of the preparation for the
annual event,
barricades
(路障)
are placed on
each side of the street so people can easily exit
the
race.
There are a few
key things
27
(remember)
about participating in the running
of
the
bulls. You should never try to
catch a
bull’s
attention
because a bull runs down the path as fast as
possible
28
it reaches its destination. If it
29
(bother),it will separate
from the
rest of the bulls and that
could spell trouble! Other ways you can
avoid injury and chaos
are 30
avoid touching the bulls, run behind
them
,
and make sure not to
bother the drovers
who lead the bulls
to the arena
(斗牛场)
.

It's been eleven years since renowned
Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya was shot and
killed
in the elevator of her apartment
building in Moscow after she 31
human rights abuses
in Chechnya and
corruption in the Kremlin.
In
June
2014
32
were handed down to five individuals for her
murder, but
the
mastermind
who ordered her killing remains unknown
–
more than a decade after
her death.
On the most recent
33
of her murder, U.S. State
Department Spokesperson Heather
Nauert
called on Russian authorities “to identify and
prosecute the person or persons who ordered,
planned and
34
this terrible
crime.”
According
to
the
latest
State
Department
35
report
on
human
rights,
in
2016
no
progress
was reported in establishing accountability for
Ms. Politikovskaya's death, or for the killing
of other high-profile journalists, such
as Paul Klebnikov in Moscow in 2004 or Natalia
Estemirova
in Chechnya in 2009.
The State Department report noted that
journalists in Russia continued to be 36
to
arrest,
imprisonment,
physical
attack,
harassment,
and
intimidation
as
a
result
of
their
work.
“Journalists reporting
in or on the North Caucasus were still under the
threat
of 37 attacks
for their reporting,” the State
Department said.
In
her
statement
on
the
anniversary
of
Anna
Politikovskaya's
death,
Spokesperson
Nauert
commented that “Ms. Politkovskaya's
reporting revealed the violation of
human
38 in
Russia and the suffering of victims of
the war in the North Caucasus
region.”
She noted that
“recent
reports
of
abuses
against
and
killings
in
Chechnya
leave
us
deeply
39
that
human
rights
violations are still regularly
committed with impunity in this
region.”
“The
unsolved murders of Ms. Politkovskaya and other
journalists in Russia, as well as threats
against journalists exposing more
recent abuses in Chechnya,” Ms. Nauert said,
“have only
worsened an
atmosphere of intimidation
(
恐吓
)for
the
independent press.”
From its
founding, the United States has recognized that a
free and independent press is
40
to
democratic
governance
and
the
rule
of
law.
The
Russian
people
deserve
that
their
government recognize free expression as
a fundamental human right that must be protected,
not
flouted or crushed.

Section A(15)
Business has
traditionally been and to a certain extent still
is “ a boy ‘s game”. Less than 6
per
cent
of
executive
management
positions
in
America
and
European
companies
are
held
by
women, and of the Fortune 500 only four
have a female CEO.
, in Britain one
women
has increased twice as fast as
the number of self-employed men.
Is it
just a case of women whose career progress has
been by
their
male
colleagues?
Or do women share specific management
qualities which somehow
them better in self-
employment? As many as forty per cent
of start-ups
within their first two
year, but the
failure rate of those
run by women is significantly lower than that.
It’s
hardly surprising,
therefore,
that through male bosses
tend to be reluctant to promote women, male bank
managers seem only
too
to
finance their business.
Anita Roddick,
the founder of the Body Shop Empire, is the
perfect
of the female
entrepreneur, with her company growing
from zero to $$ 470 million in its first fifteen
years. Perhaps
the secret of her
success was caution (
谨慎
).
Rather than purchase new shops, Roddick got
herself
into franchising
(
加盟
)---the cheapest way to
a business while keeping
overheads(
费用
)
down. They are also the blueprint for
success when launching a new company. The recent
Internet
boom allowed women like Martha
Lane Fox to set up the massively successful web
travel agency
. In
nobody
cares what sex you are.
When women
join an existing company,
it’s
a different story.
Less
in
their
approach
to business, women are more
the
feelings of the group or team in which they
work. They are generally more
cooperative than competitive, less assertive(
独
断
的
), and less
prepared to lead from the front. Though
they usually manage their time better than men and
may
seem even work harder, they are
much less likely than their male counterparts to
take risks. And ,
, it is
risk-
taking that makes corporate high
fliers. As one male director put it:”
I’m
not
paid to
make the right decisions. I’m just paid to
make
decisions.”
It’s an overgeneralization, of course,
but it remains tr
ue that men will more
readily take the
than
women. The female style of management leans
towards consensus(
一
致
)
and
conciliation
(
安抚
). Women seem to be
better communicators than men----both more
articulate and
better listeners. And
perhaps it is
women’s
capacity to listen which makes them particularly
effective
in
areas of business. In any mixed group
of business people the ones doing most of the
talking will almost certainly be the
men. But perhaps the women will really be
listening.
It was
predominantly men who led the
hierarchical(
权力阶层的

corporations of the nineties.
But it
may be women who will
come.

Section B(22)
(A)
Men are as likely as
women to suffer from depression of baby births, a
study show. One in
ten fathers ---the
same ratios as mothers
–
were
found to suffer before or after their partners
gave
births to babies and when the
babies reach 12 weeks, as many as one in four felt
down.
Meanwhile, the study reported a
handful of causes associated with men depression
of that kind:
babies being in poor
health, no longer being in a good relationship
with their partners. And being
worried
about the following expenses on babies. Even in
the early weeks, the lack of sleep and extra
domestic chores can take the toll.
Previous research had also suggested that not
having as much time
at home with their
infants might make it more
difficult
for men to get “rewards in parenting”
-----
such as a smile from
their newborns. And that, in turn, could make the
depression even worse.
However, men
depression found in the study is not thought to be
hormonal, which is often the
case in
women, and instead is probably a response to the
pressures of fatherhood.
The study put
the overall rate of depression among new fathers
at 10.4 per cent - double the
estimated
4.8 per cent for all men in any 12-month period.
Around 8 per cent were affected in the
12 weeks before and after birth,
according to the Eastern Virginia Medical School
research. The
team, led by James
Paulson, reviewed 43 studies involving 28,000
people. They found parents were
more
likely to be down if their partner was too.
Experts said paternal depression
was serious because it can have 'substantial
emotional,
behavioral and developmental
effects on children'. Therefore, it is considered
important for people

B.

C.
Men’s
depression often takes place after the
