Festival,
falls

th
month
according to Chinese
lunar calendar. Many legends circulate around the
festival but the most popular is
the
legend of Qu Yuan. Qu was a minister of the State
of Chu during the Warring States Period .he was
upright ,loyal and highly esteemed for
his wise counsel that brought peace and prosperity
to the state.
However ,the emperor
gradually made Qu disappointed . He drowned
himself in the Miluo River on the
5
th
day of the
5
th
lunar month.
