“why does
author mention ”
why
because
)

:
Paragraph 6: But neither the human
imitativeinstinct nor a penchant for fantasy by
itself leads to an autonomous ore,
additional explanations are needed.
One necessary condition seems tobe a
somewhat detached view of human
problems. For example, one sign of
thiscondition is the appearance of the comic
vision, since comedy requires
sufficientdetachment to view some deviations from
social norms as ridiculous rather
thanas serious threats to the welfare of the
entire
group. Another condition
thatcontributes to the development of autonomous
theater
is the emergence of
theaesthetic sense.
2. Why
does the author
mention
“comedy”?
A. To give an
example of early types of theater.
B. To explain how theater helps a
society respond to threats to its
welfare.
C. To help explain
why detachment is needed for the development of
theater.
D. To show how
theatrical performers become detached from other
members of
society.
comedy
for
example
neither
therefore
detached view
A
detach
ed
welfare
p>
C
和
D
提到了
p>
detach
但是
D
项中的
other members
p>
C
。

The fins are stiff, smooth, and narrow,
qualities that also help cut drag. When not in
use, the fins are tucked into special
grooves or depressions so that they lie flush
with the body and do not break up its
smooth contours. Airplanes retract their
landing gear while in flight for the
same reason.
1. Why does the
author mention that Airplanes retract their
landing gear while in
flight?
show
that air resistance and water resistance work
differently from each other.
argue that some fishes are better
designed than airplanes are.
provide evidence that airplane engine
have studied the design of fish
bodies.
demonstrate a
similarity in design between certain fishes and
airplanes.
landing gear
airplane
landing
gear
fin are
tucked
into
the
grooves
ordepres
sions(
)
。
而
CD
design,
但是
C
提到
了
airplane engine
“Complete
the summary by selecting the
THREEanswer choices that express the
most important ideas in the passage.”
/p>
干:
“Directions: An
introductory sentence fora brief summary of the
passage is
provided below. Complete
the summary byselecting the THREE answer choices
that express the most important ideas
in thepassage. Some answer choices do not
belong in the summary because they
expressideas that are not presented in the
passage or are minor ideas in the
passage. Thisquestion is worth 2 points”
“mosti
mportant ideas”
most importantideas,
minor ideas
major ideas
/p>
“an introductory sentence for a brief
summary of the
passage isprovided belo
w”
brief summary
summary

p>
(1)
(Run-ons
sentence)
Run-ons sentence<
/p>
Students deserve more respect they are
young adults.
Students deserve more respect
when/although they are young adults.
(2)
(Comma
splice)
Comma
p>
splice
We are out of money,
we decide not to eat out on the
weekend.
We are
out of money, so we decide not to eat out on the
weekend.
(3)
(Sentence
fragment)
Sentence fragment<
/p>
Driving in the city during the evening
rush hour.
Driving
in the city during the evening rush hour is
dangerous.
(4)
(Misplaced modifier)
Misplaced modifier
At the age of five, my father started
to teach me piano.
My
father started to teach me piano when I was
five.
(5)
(Faulty
parallelism)
Faulty parallel
ism
People should be judged not only by
their words, but also by what they do.
People
should be judged not only by their words, but also
by their deeds.
(6)
(Faulty
subordination)
Faulty
subordination
