In China, teachers are held in high esteem. September 10th is theTeachersDay of China.
This day is in honor of all those involved in theteaching profession.

在中国，教师受到很大的尊重。9月10日是中国的教师节。这是为了纪念所有从事教
育事业的人们。

September 28th is the birthday of the world-famous teacherConfucius-KongZi. Kongzi is a
great philosopher and he is also a great had thousands of disciples (students),
including Aristotle. In the ancienttimes, Kongzi’s birthday was regarded as a TeachersDay.

9月 28是闻名于世的孔子的生辰。孔圣人是个伟大的哲学家，但他又是个伟大的老师。
他有许多门徒，就是 今天我们说得学生，包括亚里士多德。在古代的时候，人们把孔子的
生辰作为教师节。

Now, September 10th is the TeachersDay of China. In the year f 1984, WangZishen, former
president of Beijing Normal University, suggested to establish afestival day for the Chinese


teachers. On Jan. 21st,1985,September 10th wasfixed as the TeachersDay of China.

现在，9月10日是中华 人民共和国的教师节。在1984年，王梓坤教授，北京师范大
学前校长，建议要建立中国的教师节。在 1985年的1月，第六届全国人大常委会第九次
会议确定，每年9月10日为中国的教师节。

教师节起源

Teachers ,known as gardeners,engineers of the human souls,is a professionesteemed by the
general public.

教师被人们称为“园丁”、“人类灵魂的工程师”，是受到全社会尊重的一种职业。

In 1931, educators Tai Shuang-qiu and Cheng Qiao called on an establishmentof teachers
day to improve teachers treatment, protection and promotion ofteachers training. They gave out
Teachers Declaration and asked for theofficial agreement of teachers Day and they celebrated by
themselves forteachers in the Central University in Nanjing. Soon, the KMT government
firstagreed on June 6 for the teachers, then teachers day changed to August 27(birthday of
Confucius). After 1949, the Central Peoples government resumedJune 6 for teachers, the
Ministry of Education gave a circular that localeducation workers, according to the actual
situation to organize theircelebration activities.

早在1931年5月，教育家邰爽秋、程其保等 人就曾呼吁设立教师节，提高教师待遇，
加强教师团队保护和教师培训。他们发表了《教师节宣言》，呈 请当时的中央政府批准，
并自己在南京中央大学庆祝教师节。并于1931年6月6日在南京中央大学举 行了第一次
庆贺教师节的仪式。但当时的教育部没有批准把这个节日列入学校校历。尽管这样，后来许多学校的教师仍于6月6日自动举行纪念活动。1939年，当时的教育部规定以每年的8
月27 日孔子诞辰纪念日为教师节，并颁布了《教师节纪念暂行办法》，但后来未实行。
