We have to admit that the impactoftechnology on society is unquestionable. Whetherconsideri ng
the TV or thecomputers, technology has had a hugeimpact on society. While not every advance has
been beneficial, there have been many positive effects of technology. Theinternet isone typical example.
With the development of science andtechnology, the worldis no longer what it used to be. But the
ability ofcommunication isa significant skill which should be cultivated if we want tosurvivean d succeed
in the world. But the way of communication with peoplehaschanged dramatically. Almo st everyone today
has a computer, anduses it tocommunicate with their friends, family, and evenbu siness. The virtual
worldcommunication has changed the way thatpeople communicate.
Since communication between peoplein the real world is of utmost importance, lack of comm
unicationwilllead to perish of human beings. Through communication in thereal world, mutualund
erstanding can be promoted and fosteredbetween people, which cannot bereplaced by the virtualc
ommunication.
.
TASK2: There are many problems associatedwith mobile phonestoday.
To what extent do the advantages of mobilephones outweighthe disadvantage?
As concerns mount over the advent of new technology, peoplenowadays hold a mixed feeling
toward the use of mobile phones. Phenomena areidentified that mobile phones, especially smart p
hones, make quite a few usersdistracted from their work or studies, who are often seen preoccupie d
with miscellaneousapplications. However, there are still numbers of people enjoy a wide range o
fconvenient and effective services mobile phones provide, which, to some extent, have already been
integrated into people s'routine life.
The main criticism concerning mobile phones squarely fallsinto the distraction. Usually coul d we
see the situation where people sittingaround a table do nothing but to deeply concentrate on t heir
phones, withshamefully little real communication with people beside. Mobile phones, therefore , seem to
make users alienated or aloof sometimes, and moreover, people gradually form the habit of interacting
with each other online or bytexting messages rather than direct meeting or talking. Apart from
thedisadvantages mentioned, long time usage of mobile phones can also bring physical harm to people
s'health which is exposed to much radiation.
Although mobilephones are blamed for those aspects, I still doubt people would choose to liv
ewithout them or neglect their undeniably convenient offers. Firstly,long- distance and real-time co
mmunications by mobile phones enable peopleliving in different places to contact each other with
efficiency. Accordingly, many multinationals, which frequently hold video-or teleconferencing, are
amongthe biggest beneficiaries, saving amounts of commuting cost. In addition, mobiles with data have
essentially accelerated the spread of information. Thelatest news at present is only a click or touch away,
whose timely pushnotification services are irresistible for people bustling about in thi sinformation age.
Furthermore, there are many useful applications that can evenmonitor and eval uate the users h'ealth
and act as a personal general practitioner, giving medical advice when it is n ecessary. Those
applications are wellanticipated to improve users l'ife quality. The examples I ha ve given are just a few
of the many thatcan elucidate the advantages of mobile phones. Although at tentions should beattached
to some problems caused, those are still a small part of the wholepictur e. Besides, some of the
problems, such as radiation in particular, arepotentially to be solved in the future as technology and
science areprogressing with momentum.

Nowadays,more and more hi-tech tools,such as calculator,computer,etc,appear in our dail y

However, does anyone think about what problems science and technology have caused to hap pen

2. Direction:For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay based on the pict ure
below. You should focus on the harm caused by misleading information online. You are require d to write
at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
范文一:
The harm caused by misleading information online It is true that the internet has brought u s great
convenience and efficiency, however, as the data grows at an exponential rate, the severity of
misleading information arises. Deceptive news or tips travel fast online, and worse still, they may shadow
our routine life or even hinder the progress of our society. Lack of enough considerati on, we are easily
misled by false information which always appears in bulk on the webpage. Some will alter their plans to
deal with the so-called disaster but only affect their normal life; a few may even go further to violate
social security and economic trend. Moreover, if the misleading news is n
'
c
t
orrected soon, there may be
a trust crisis between individuals and the government. For examp le, the nuclear leakage in Japan in
2011 has caused great panic in Eastern China, where thousand s of people went out to rob salt after the
rumor that salt can prevent radiation, and ended in a turb ulence in the domestic market.
To prevent misleading information spreading, government should set up laws to regulate onl ine
news while individuals need to judge independently. Only when they work in hand will the har m of false
information be diminished to the end.
3.2015 年 6 月英语六级作文 试卷一:知识与实践
Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the s aying
“ Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it. ” You can cite one example or two t o illustrate
your point of view. You should write at least 150 but no more than 200 words. 范文:
Practice is the Key to Knowledge
Nowadays almost every person has a clear notion about the importance of knowledge, with w hich
we can make great difference to our world. However, the contribution of practice should also be
awarded.
Practice is considered significant because it can turn abstract ideas into tangible results. Only t
hrough practice can we truly develop our own understanding about the essence of the new knowle dge,
or else the treasure of knowledge would still be words printed on papers. Moreover, the vilific ation of
new theories requires us to focus more on the practical side, which helps people to learn b etter
compared with the mechanical way of reading and memorizing. In addition, practice makes p eople
acquire information in an active way, thus more innovative thoughts are likely to be generat ed in the
process and then applied to make our future life more exciting.
As far as I am concerned, practice is essential for people to understand, to review and to opti mize
the information we receive. It is practice that produces enjoyable life and makes knowledge t ruly
valuable. 试卷二:好奇心
Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on Albert
Einstein's remark “ I have no special talents, I am only passionately curious. ” You can cite one
example or two to illustrate your point of view. You should write at least 150 but no more than 200 words.
范文:
The above saying from Einstein vividly echoes a piece of quotation: stay hungry; stay foolish, which
is put forward by Steven Jobs, the late CEO of Apple Inc. Undoubtedly, both of the two gre at men attach
importance to curiosity. To some extent, we may safely maintain that without curiosi ty, without success.
In the first place, curiosity is the premise of innovation, which can be seen as the key to success.
Besides Einstein, a case in point is Steven Jobs, who always keeps curious, dev oted to innovation. So,
there is no exaggeration to say that the success of Apple Inc doesn

su

ppre ss us at all. In the second
place, the quality of being curious provides us with the drive to go forwa rd. To put it another way, where
there is curiosity, there is advancement. For example, if a scientist desires to make progress in his
research community, he must hold a curious heart; otherwise, his r esearch will eventually go into a
corner.
In conclusion, it is not too much to say that curiosity plays an indispensable role both in pers onal
and corporate success. So, it is wise for us to bear in mind great men's sayings concerning cu riosity
and practice them as much as possible.
试卷三:做好小事情

everyone can achieve high by doing small things in a great way.
We have to admit that there are something that we cannot accomplish right now, but it isn t

Therefore, never cease the pace on the road to our dreams. As long as we stick to our goal and be
serious to whatever related to it, we can be considered as great.
4.2014 年 12 月英语六级作文 真题一:科技
题目:
For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay based on the picture below. You should
start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then discuss whether technology is
indispensable in education. You should give sound arguments to support your views and write at least
150 words but no more than 200 words.
范文:
From this cartoon, we clearly see that the student is asking his teacher about whether or not he can
use some tech support to figure out the problem in his math class. What 's behind the cartoon is the fact
that nowadays students become increasingly dependent on technological devices to help them with their
school work.
In my opinion, with the advances in technology, students can learn more efficiently. First of all,
technology provides infinite resources for learning. When our parents were students, they could only
learn from their teachers, while nowadays, we can learn much more from the Internet. Second, it s m'ore
convenient to learn with tech support. For example, I got enrolled in a Spanish class in an online school
called Hu jiang Online Class. All it requires is a PC or a smart phone, and I can learn the lectures
anytime and anywhere. Lastly, it s more econom'ical to learn online. Besides the courses, free Apps are
also easily accessible.
As for me, tech support has become an important part in my daily study. I will continue to learn in this
way, and I believe that we can learn more efficiently if we are able to utilize the technologies around us.

You should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then discuss whether there is a
shortcut to learning. You should give sound arguments to support your views and write at least 150
words but no more than 200 words.
范文:

The comic is an ironical illustration that it is unadvisable to search for a shortcut to learning. The
student tries to find a book about how to do well in school without studying in the library, only to be told
that it is un realistic and impractical.
The discussion of whether there is a shortcut to learning is essentially the requesting for a supreme
learning method -a panacea every learner wishes for. In my opinion, the shortcut to learning does exist.
It is the comb in ati on of dilige nee and in tellige nee. As Thomas Edis on says, Genius is one per cent in
spirati on, nin ety-nine per cent perspiratio n.
On one hand, hard work is the premise and prerequisite for achievi ng academic success. Even the
most resourceful ones have to devote their time study ing and readi ng, because kno wledge does not go
automatically into the brain. All efforts will be futile if we idle away our time.
On the other hand, it is undeniable that there are ways to improve learning efficiency, especially with
the support of tech no logy like the Intern et. Better lear ners are always the ones with cleverer lear ning
skills.
To sum up, only when we diligently and skillfully can we achieve academic success.

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minu tes to write an essay based on the picture below.
You should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then discuss what qualities an
employer should look for in job applicant. You should give sound arguments to support your views and
write at least 150 words but no more tha n 200 words.
范文:

According to the picture, an employer turns down a job applicant, for his degree is less
advanced than the other applicants, even though he has a good resume. Actually, what
the cartoon is the tendency that employers focus on academic performance when hiring.
s behind
No one disputes that a college or higher degree opens doors. Despite that, as far as I ' m concerned, academic
degree should not be the primary criteria in selecting talents. First of all, academic degrees only represent the applicants
p'roficiency in their school work, and cannot demonstrate their personality or other abilities. For instance, the responsibility
of a human resources manager is to deal with people, and thus it requires advanced people skill which is by no means
if they judge people only by their educational background, while it is often the case that college drop-outs like Bill Gates,
Michael Dell, Steve Jobs, etc., run wildly successful enterprises.
Therefore, instead of running after applicants with higher degrees, companies should become more concerned about
what it takes to do the job and what a college education actually provides.

For this part , your are alloed 30 minutes to write an essay explaining why it is unwise to judge a person by their
appearance. You can give explain to illustrate your point .You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200words
There is an old saying that people never judge a book from its cover. From my point of view, this saying also applies
to our attitudes towards others: never judge a person from their appearance. Because you never know one person s'true
merits if only judging from their appearance。
It is true that an attractive appearance is of great significance not only for daily life but also for the job. However, it is
unwise to judge one person by the appearance for the following reasons. On the one hand, with the advancement of

shown in the diploma. Second, emphasis on degrees may stall the development of the company. They will lose real talents

science technology and medical level, people can transform their surface by all means. On the other hand, the appearance
kind-hearted, honest and so on 。
In conc lusion, it is unadvisable to judge a person by their appearance. That s why I assert
should not be the merely criteria for judging an individual, considering that are more important factors, including Courteous,
that we should pay more attention to one's inward and place high value on inner cultivation 。 6.2013年12月

Ways to Get Over Information Explosion
As a famous saying goes, “ Awealth of information creates a poverty of attention ” Nowadays we are in the
Information Age. Some people keep complaining about distraction by the information explosion.
Admittedly, the new information age has brought us so much convenience that we are allowed to get enough
information just with a simple click sitting in front of the computers. Nevertheless, we are also confused, annoyed,
distracted and upset by an incredibly large quantity of information. For example, when searching for something online,
people are easily carried away by irrelevant information and forget their original plan. Besides, some information often
turns out to be useless and is actually advertisement. Therefore, it can be time-consuming and troublesome to search
information online.
Then what we can do to avoid being distracted by irrelevant information? Here I have some useful tips: Firstly, make
a list of what you really want before your searching. This will help you to refuse some appealing, yet irrelevant information.
Secondly, find some trustful and professional sources or websites and then save and categorize them. In this case, you
can easily leave some ads and useless information behind.

inspiring idea is that happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them, which reveals the very
truth about happiness. It cannot be achieved through waiting, but only through striving.
There is no way that life always progresses as we wish. Problems may occur and we find ourselves in trouble, but it
doesn't mean we are deprived of happiness. There are numerous examples for us to follow: disabled people overcoming
obstacles, patients fighting against disease, poverty-stricken people achieving their dreams -- all these inspiring heroes.
Their lives are definitely not problem-free, but they have found happiness by courageously solving problems. Therefore, it
is essential to develop the ability to deal with problems. We need to muster our courage and confidence to face the fact.
Meanwhile, we need to find effective ways to cope with them.
In a word, if we stay strong and approach problems effectively, there will be no storm in life that we cannot weather. And
after the storm, happiness is within our reach.

【点评】 本次作文主题围绕 “有意义的生活”,由于本次主题有些抽象,难度稍大。以下是一条可行思 路: 1.由谚语引

3.
2.引出具体例子,作为自己观点的支撑。
not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them. ” Yo examples to illustrate your point and then explain how

Among all the highlighted topics, there is “ how to live a meaning life? ” Everyone has his own opinion. As the saying
“ the greatest use of life isit tforsspoemndething that will has it,
outlast it. ” I cannot agree any more.
If our life is just to pursue something for ourselves, we will surely feel fruitless and meaningless when we grow old. From
Steve Job's bibliography, we can get that the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the
ones who do. Steve Jobs has brought a great many changes to our world. His life, although short, definitely outlast. That s
a life worth living. ' Therefore, if there is a way to make my life meaningful, it should be to find something I ' m interested
in and also helpful to others or the whole society. Only in this way can I keep my passion throughout my life until I finally
fulfil my life.

It is believed that the computer is bringing the world into a brand new era. At the time the computer was invented,
scientists, marveling at its calculating speed, felt that they had created a miracle. Nowadays, the function of the computer

题目: The impact of the Internet on interpersonal communication 要求: commenting on : Hi sweetie, how

In contemporary society, our life is filled with a variety of anecdotes or stories, and the followi ng is no exception:

conversation can be naturally associated with the impact s of Internet on our life: In an era of Internet, the time for
interpersonal communication is impaire d by online chats or blogs
Apparently, the impacts of the Internet on interpersonal communication are diverse. For one t hing, as a vital invention,
Internet brings great convenience to our communication, eliminates the barrier of distance, and helps humans to keep in
touch wherever and whenever. For another, it is I nternet that does not enables family members, friends or classmates to
communicate more in a fac e-to-face way. One case in point is that youngsters may spend hours chatting with
acquaintances t hrough QQ or MSN, but rarely do they talk with other face to face. Unfortunately, it we let this tre nd to
continue as it is, the interpersonal relationship will, definitely, become alienated.
To my understanding, it is advisable for people to communicate more with their families, frien ds and acquaintances in
real life instead of merely through the Internet. Do bear in mind: Internet is just a tool. (213words)
The Influence of the Internet on Interpersonal Communication
Nowadays, along with the rapid development of internet, a great change appears in the daily life of everyone. We rely
upon the internet more than any time before. It even becomes our necessit y for communication, especially for young
people.
Various approaches can be used by us to surf on the internet for interpersonal communicatio n, such as QQ, blog,
MSN, email, and the like. It becomes so common to us that we cannot live without internet just as we cannot live without
food and water. The influence of it can be reflected i n several ways. First, internet can help us to make more friends
because the communication beco mes so convenient that we can connect with a friend overseas just in a few seconds.
Second, intern et may widen the emotional distance between people. We lose patience with the face-to-face conta ct with
online captivate our eyes and make us feel confused. We lose our bas ic judgment about who and what can be believed.
Overall, every coin has its two sides. We must recognize the benefits of internet which bring t o us. At the same time,

The Way to Success First essay—stream of thought type
The Way to Success

way to success?
A strong will and great efforts are the most essential two keys to the door of success. Why do people fail to achieve
their goal? The reason is that most of them give up halfway due to their lack of a strong will once they encounter any
difficulty. A man of a strong will always sticks to his cause no matter how tough it might be.
Would Thomas Edison be such a great man in history if he had done nothing but possessing a strong will? We are all
familiar with his story that he had tried one thousand kinds of materials before he finally made his great bulb light up.
Without hard effort, Edison might have been a nobody. Without efforts, no one can succeed.
one another. A QQ message can replace everything need to be done by close contact. Third , lots of deceptious messages
To sum up, a strong will and great efforts can help one open up the way to success. Where there is a will with efforts,
there is a way.

The Certificate Craze
Almost no one in China has failed to notice the phenomenon that a growing number of people are enthusiastic about
pursuing various kinds of certificates. Taking a look around, one can find numerous examples with ease. A common case
in point is that students spend a great deal of time and energy attending a great variety of certificate-oriented training
courses to ensure a better score。
The purpose of acquiring certificates varies from individuals to individuals. For students, as the job market
competition is becoming increasingly fierce, not only can a certain certificate prove their capabilities, but also will put them
in a favorable position in the employment market and the development of their career. When it comes to white-collared
workers, more job-related certificates often guarantee greater opportunities for a salary raise and promotion. What s more,
it is also an ideal way to enhance their job techniques and sharpen their competitiveness 。
From my perspective, the merits of pursuing certificates are self-evident. However, we should also bear in mind that it
is the practical skills, such as management, cooperation, communication, rather than certificates that guarantee one s
accomplishme'nt in career. Acc ordingly, we might as well attach great importance to both certificates and the
improvement of one s comprehensive abilities 。

My View on University Ranking
1. 现在有很多高校评级
2. 人们对此看法各异
3. 你认为
Nobody could have failed to notice the fact that university ranking has gained increasing popularity --- institutions
home and abroad are always interested in it; newspapers and magazines are fond of carrying the news. Unfortunately, it
has also given rise to some problems never thought of. Confronted with the dilemma, should we carry on the practice?
When it comes to this question, people s view's vary from one to another.
People who support ranking have their reasons. They are convinced that it can stimulate people, teachers and
students alike, to work harder so that they can climb on the ladder or at least maintain their position. In this way,
universities can produce more talents and knowledge demanded by our society. Also, supporters of university ranking
maintain that it can act as a guide for employers when they decide where to find right employees.
But others may not agree. These people would argue that university ranking might force universities to care more
some professors spend more time in bribing than in labs in order to have an edge in the fierce competition. Another good
case in point is that some scholars even sacrifice their integrity to plagiarize under the pressure of “ publish or perish ”.
Who is right? Of course both sides have their reasons. As far as I am concerned, we might as well stop the practice for
the good of universities and society. Universities are a place for free academic study. Only when scholars are free to in
their pursuits, can they make contribution to society.

(普通应试版)
Currently, there is a growing concern for difficulty in the mother tongue language among university students. Foreign
language learning, not Chinese, has become a common occurrence on our campus. Obviously, more and more experts
are beginning to be aware of the seriousness of this problem.
A number of reasons can be easily found for this. For one thing, students pay more attention to English study than
Chinese training. For another thing, the companies, especially the gainful employment, focus on the candidates' foreign
language skills. What's more, Chinese plays a less important role in university courses. In other words, teachers also feel
unnecessary to hold further studies on Chinese. Consequently, language learners found inability in gaining English
successfully, or they may feel having difficulties in understanding in other languages.
As far as I am concerned, the correct and exact expression in Chinese ought to be the primary concern for foreign
other languages. Obviously, it is necessary that effective actions should be taken to prevent the above situation.

about their position in the ranking but not about research that they are expected to do. For instance, it is often reported that
languages studies, which means Chinese, our mother tongue, is the foundation for understanding, expressing and learning
Recently it often hits headlines of newspapers that some prestigious universities like Tongji exclude Chinese from the
Chinese not so important as English? What if we neglect the study of our mother tongue?
First of all, globalization counts much for this phenomenon. In modern society, information in most media, be it the
Internet or newspaper, is conveyed in English. As a saying goes, one can go to every corner of the world without any
difficulty in communicating with local people. Unfortunately, while we emphasize the importance of English, we underrate
the value of Chinese though China has been developing at an amazing speed.
But neglecting the study of Chinese is extremely harmful if the situation is left unfettered. The major harm is that
China s trad'itional value is likely to get lost because language and ideas are interlocked in most cases. For example,
when interviewed, most youngsters show that they are quite unfamiliar with some famous figures and their sayings.
To sum up, many reasons are responsible for the phenomenon and it will do us harm if we leave the situation as it is.
Faced with the problem, we are expected to take effective measures. For one thing, the government should work out rules
to ensure the time for the study of Chinese in school. Only in this way, can we find a cure for the problem.

1. 家长送学生参加各种艺术班
2. 有人支持,有人反对
3. 作为大学生,我的观点
There is a growing tendency nowadays for parents to send their children to register and attend a great variety of arts
courses, such as dancing, calligraphy and musical instruments training, etc. The attitudes of people towards this
phenomenon vary from person to person.
Some people maintain that these extra curriculums are of great necessity and benefits to students. According to a
recent survey on pre-school intelligence level, the respondents who take part in out- class courses tend to perform better
than those who haven ' t. Moreover, the former can
have an all-round development by acquiring knowledge and skills which are not taught in their schools. On the contrary,
others argue that these courses would bring about heavy burdens to students and thus oppose to this practice. They worry
about that students might not have adequate time to take rest and reflect on what they have learned in school.
As a university student, I have ever participated in some arts courses, such as singing and painting classes and they
proved to be helpful for my hobby development. Therefore, as far as I concerned, taking some extra curri culum courses
properly is meaningful to students development ' in the long-term.

The Importance of Name
Directions: For this part, you are allowed thirty minutes to write a composition on the topic The Importance of Name.
You should write at least 150 words, and base your composition on the outline (given in Chinese) below:
Do “ Lucky Numbers ” Really Bring Good Luck?
There are people who believe that some numbers bring good luck, while others bring bad luck. For instance, in China
the number eight is thought to be lucky. Turning our attention to the West, we find that the number seven is considered
lucky, but the number 13 is avoided like the plague.
In spite of all these claims, most people would agree that there is little evidence that numbers have any influence on
our lives. In fact, they say, the reverse seems to be the case. For one thing, we might expect calculators to break down
every time they note the number 13, and for another, although every week has seven days we know that not every week is
lucky for us.
Weighing the pros and cons of these arguments, I am inclined to agree with the latter point of
view. It is obvious that there is no scientific basis for the belief that there is a connection between luck and numbers. All in
all, it seems to me to be superstition.
课堂例文:
The Importance of Name
There are individuals who believe that names are of vital importance for them. They argue that some names bring
good luck, while others bring bad luck. For instance, in China the name Wangcai is thought to be lucky. Turning our
attention to the West, we find that the Bill Gates is considered important, but some names are avoided like the plague.
