篇一：21世纪全国中小学生英语演讲比赛总决赛落幕
21世纪全国中小学生英语演讲比赛总决赛落幕 由中国
日报社和联想集团联合主办、21世纪英语教育 传媒和北京大
学外国语学院联合承办的第12届中国日报社“21世纪联想
杯”全国中小学生英 语演讲比赛总决赛于XX年3月22-24
日在北京大学英杰交流中心圆满落幕。 总决赛分小学、初< br>中、高中三组进行。小学、初中和高中组分别有约60名选
手入围总决赛。三个组别分别围绕主题 a special gift,
growing pains和respect, respect, respect展开激烈角
逐。最终，上海市民办平和学校的张洲晨、云南师范大学 附
属小学（文林校区）的月钦和沈阳市和平区文化路小学的王
谦谦 分别获得小学组冠、亚、季 军；上海外国语大学附属
外国语学校的王席文、香港拔萃女书院的谢忻彤和成都市实
验外国语学 校的黄芮嘉分别获得初中组冠、亚、季军；香港
保良局蔡继有学校的杨翠茵、香港马丽诺修院学校的陈莹 莹
和深圳中学张纯子分别获得高中组冠、亚、季军。
高中组选手上海外国语大学附属外国 语学校的季伟辰
同时获得“中国日报社21世纪最具潜力奖”殊荣，他将于5
月中旬与大学组优 胜选手共赴英国伦敦，代表中国学子参加
由国际英语联合会（esu）主办的“国际公众英语演讲比赛” ，
向世界展示中国新一代青年学子的智慧与魅力。
全国政协外事委员会副主任王国庆（左 一）和中国教育
学会会长钟秉林（右一）为大学组冠军香港中文大学的李思
上（左二）和高中组 冠军香港保良局蔡继有学校的杨翠茵（右
二）颁奖。上海市民办平和学校的张洲晨、上海外国语大学附属外国语学校的王席文和香港保良局蔡继有学校的杨翠
茵分别获得小学、初中和高中组“联想最具 创新奖”，他们
分别获得由联想集团提供的价值2800元的yoga平板电脑一
部。
联想集团副总裁、中国区平板事业部总经理曾国章（左
一）为高中组获奖选手颁奖
小学、初中和高中组单项奖“乐加乐英语未来之星奖”
分别由芳草地国际远洋小学的路昀松 、北京一零一中学的周
雅诺和深圳中学的张纯子获得，他们分别获得了由乐加乐英
语提供的XX 元阅读基金。高中组亚军和季军则获得了赴澳
洲进行短期修学游的奖励，一等奖选手则获得了到香港、澳
门进行短期修学游的奖励。获得高中组单项奖“pga最佳
风采奖”的选手为郑州中学的周雨璇，她将获得价值3000
元的奖品。另外 “海外选手特别评审奖”由澳大利亚悉尼
st paul’s grammar school的yunipaula jeong获得。
初中组冠、亚、季军及一等奖选手获得了 到澳大利亚进
行短期修学游的奖励。单项奖“新东方外国语学校最佳风采
奖”由成都市实验外国 语学校的黄芮嘉 获得。
小学组冠、亚、季军及一等奖选手获得了到国内知名城
市进行短 期游学或参加21世纪英文报暑期夏令营的奖励。
全国政协外事委员会副主任王国庆在致辞中盛赞 选手
们的精彩表现。他表示，在参赛选手们极富激情的演讲和出
色表现中，看到了国家的未来和 希望。“今后我将会一如既
往地关注‘21世纪全国英语演讲比赛’，希望中国日报社21
世纪 英语教育传媒能够在促进国际交流、推动英语教育发展
方面做出更大的贡献。”王国庆说。
中国日报社副总编辑王西民、中国日报社高级顾问黄庆
等领导亲临比赛现场，并为获奖选手颁奖。中国日 报社21
世纪英文报总编辑李文莎在致辞中高度赞扬了选手们的英
语水平和精彩表现，并代表主 办方向评审团、指导老师及家
长、参赛学生表示衷心的感谢，并表示报社将继续办好“21
世纪 杯”比赛，为更多的学生提供展示英语水平与演讲能力
的舞台。
与往届总决赛一样，本届 总决赛仍然邀请了国内外知名
专家担任评委。来自北京大学、北京语言大学(招生办)、中
央民 族大学、中国传媒大学(招生办)、北京理工大学等高校
的英语教授，以及全国基础外语教育研究培训中 心、新东方
外国语学校、bbc英语教学、tefl org uk、香港立法会、
wellington college international tianjin等机构的领导
和中国日报社21世纪英文报系领导担任了决赛评委。
本届 “21世纪联想杯”全国中小学生英语演讲比赛自去
年6月启动以来，历时9个月，在20个赛区经过初 赛、复
赛、地区决赛等重重环节，报名选手近 万人。
“21世纪杯”全国中小学生英语 演讲比赛由中国日报社
于XX年创办，每年面向全国在校中、小学生举行。大赛自
创办之初即作 为每年5月在英国伦敦举行的国际英语演讲比
赛中国区选拔赛，高中组获胜选手将代表中国在国际舞台上
展示中国青年学子的风貌。大赛已先后在北京、苏州、上海、
深圳、杭州、成都、昆明等地成功 举办了11届，成为国内
英语教学界一项重要的文化传播和学术交流品牌活动。历年
来，大赛得 到了全国各地教育行政和学术部门及广大中小学
校的普遍认可，并得到国家教育部(微博)、国务院新闻 办公
室、国际知名英语教学机构及国内外著名高校、新闻界、英
美使领馆的充分认可和大力支持 。包括新华社、中国日报、
人民日报、北京晚报、新民晚报、中央人民广播电台在内的
中央及地 方各大媒体均对赛事进行过报道。每年有约50万
名中小学生报名参赛，近百万学生通 过各种渠道了解赛事。
《国家中长期教育改革和发展规划纲要》提出，要培养
大批具有国 际视野、通晓国际规则、能够参与国际事务和国
际竞争的国际化人才。《十二五规划纲要》也指出，要创 新
教育方式，加强实践培养，依托国际学术交流合作项目，培
养一线创新人才。我国作为非英语 语言国家，英语语言文化
的发展已成为联系世界文化经济与本国文化经济发展的纽
带，是推动社 会文化发展、促进社会经济发展的动力之一。
本项赛事的良好运作，彰显了中国日报社致力于培养创新型
国际化人才的使命和责任，也体现了其作为权威媒体对于社

im grateful that ive been given this opportunity,
at such a
historic moment, to stand here as a spokesman of
my generation and to take a serious look back at the
past 15 years, a crucial period for every one of us and
for this nation as well.
though it is only within my power to tell about my
personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at
that, it still
represents, i believe, the root of a spirit which
has been essential to me and to all the people bred by
the past 15 years.
in my elementary years, there was a little girl in
the class who worked very hard but somehow could never
do satisfactorily in her lessons.
the teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious
that she expected a lot from me. but as a young boy,
restless, thoughtless, i always tried to evade her so
as to get more time to enjoy myself. one day before
the final exam, she came up to me and said, couldyou
please explain this to me i want very much to do better
this time. i started explaining, and finished in a
hurry. pretending not to notice her still confused eyes,
i ran off quickly. nat
surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam.
and two months later, at the beginning of the new
semester, word came of her death of blood cancer. no
one ever knew about the little task i failed to fulfill,
but i couldnt forgive myself. i simply couldnt forget
her eyes, which seem to be asking, why didnt you do a
little more to help me, when it was so easy for you why
didnt you understand a little better the trust placed
in you, so that i would not have to leave this world
in such pain and regret
i was about eight or nine years old at that time,
but in a way it was the very starting
point of my life, for i began to understand the word
responsibility and to learn to always do my duties
faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that
sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust
of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which
are the very foundation of human society.
words like individuality and creativity are
getting more emphasis and more people are rewarded for
their hard work and efforts. such is the era in which
this generation ,grows and matures.
such is the era in which this generation will take
over the nation from our fathers and learn to run it.
yet in the meantime, many problems still exist.
we learn that crimes take place in broad daylight
with crowds of people looking on and not assisting. we
hear that there are still about 1 million children in
this country who cant even afford to go to elementary
schools while enormous sums of money are being
squandered away on dinner parties and luxury cars.
such an era, furthermore, demands, that we are a
generation with a clear perception of our historical
responsibility and an aggressive will to take action
and solve the problems. history has long been preparing
these qualities in this generation and it is now calling
us forward to give testimony to our patriotism and
heroism towards this nation and all humanity.
standing here now, i think of the past 15 years of
my life as an ordinary student. probably ill be an
ordinary man for the rest of my life. but this doesnt
discourage me any, for i know that with my
sense of responsibility and devoted efforts to
always strive, for the best, its going to be a
meaningful and worthwhile life that i will be living.
i cant ever forget that little girl in my class who
couldnt had the same opportunities as any of us here
to enjoy a wonderful life today and a hopeful world
tomorrow. it is the sacred responsibility of this
generation to face up to the challenges of the new
century and to devote our sweat and blood, our wisdom
and passion, to the historic cause of making this nation
a greater and happier land for every one of us. we are
not going to evade that responsibility. we are going
to let people down. and people, far and near, will hear
of us. frost will be brought to their backbones and
tears to their eyes when our stories are told and retold,
so let us go forth, my fellow members of this luckily
chosen generation, and meet the new century in victory

crossing the sea
good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. the title of
my speech today is crossing the sea. an english poet
by the name of rudyard kipling once wrote in his poem
we and they:all the people like us are we
and everyone else is they
we live over the sea
while they live over the way
we eat pork and beef with cowhorn-handled knives
they who gobble their rice off a leaf
are horrified out of their lives.
when these lines first caught my eyes, i was
shocked-how could two peoples remain so isolated and
ignorant of each other in the past todays society, of
course, is an entirely different picture. those people
who used to eat with cowhorn-handled knives might be
very skillful in using chopsticks, and those people who
used to gobble their rice might be as well have taken
to fish and chips.
indeed, just take china as an example: our modern
life has been influenced by western style of living in
so many ways that its no longer surprising to see
teenagers going crazy about rock-and-roll, whole
families dining out at mcdonalds and even rather
elderly people dressed in apple jeans.
however, these are only some expressions of the
cultural changes taking place in our society today.
what is really going on is a subtle but significant
restructuring of the nations mentality. just look
around.
it is therefore evident that we as descendants of
an ancient eastern civilization are already living
under strong inf1uence of the western culture. but it
is not only in china that we find the incorporation of
the two cultures.
take the chinese acupuncture as another example:
this traditional treatment of diseases is finally
finding its way to the west and hence the underlying
notion that illness is resulted from the imbalance
between yin and yang within the body -- an idea which
would strike any westerner as incredible in the past!
therefore, it is our sacred responsibility to
promote the cultural exchanges and hence the mutual
understanding between china and the rest of the world.
it is my happiest dream that the new generation of
chinese will not only grow up drinking coca-cola and
watching hollywood, but also be blessed with the
far- reaching benefits of multiple cultures; benefits
that our forefathers had never, ever dreamed of.
to end my speech, i would like to quote rudyard
kipling again:
all the people like us are we
and everyone else is they
but once you cross over the sea
you will end by looking on we
as only a sort of they thank you.

办的国际英语演讲比赛的中国区唯一指 定选拔赛。

讲比赛由中国日报社主办，二十一世纪英语教育传媒承办，
江苏赛区 由江苏省中小学教学研究室协办。经过层层选拔脱
颖而出的优秀选手皆为各校精英，将代表江苏省中小学 生英
语演讲的最高水平参加全国总决赛。
