Very quietly I took my leave

as quietly as I came here;

quietly I wave goodbye

to the rosy clouds in the western sky….

This poem [5p[UIm] is taken from to Cambridge[5keimbrIdV]（康桥）
again written by Xu Zhimo, a very famous Chinese poet [5p[UIt]. He grew up in Zhejiang
and studied at Beijing University. During this time he married his good friend's sister, but they
were not happy. Later his wife went to Paris and then to Germany. After some time they got
divorced (离婚). In the summer of 1918 he went to America, where he received a BA in history
and an MA in economics [Ik[5nCmIks](经济). From 1921-22 he was in England and studied at
Cambridge. Here he started writing poems and reading widely. In 1922, he returned to China,
where he had a job in teaching and writing. Later he fell in love with Lu Xiaoman and wrote lots
of love letters to her, but it is a pity that he died in an air accident in 1931.

Xu Zhimo will always be remembered as one of the greatest writers in the 1920s.
