“Frogs”—Believe in yourself（英语学习）
Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs who arranged a running
competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big
crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the
contestants1).
从前,有 一群小青蛙组织了一场跑步比赛,目标是登上一座非常高的塔
的顶端。一大群青蛙聚在塔边观看比赛,为 选手们加油。

The race began. Honestly, no one in the crowd really believed that the
tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. You heard statements such as
“Oh, way2) too difficult!” “They will never make it to the top.” “Not a
chance3) that they will succeed. The tower is too high!”
比赛开始了。老实说,那一群观众中没有谁真的相信小青蛙们能够登
上塔顶。你能听到这样的议论:“哦,这太难了!”“它们肯定到不了塔
顶。”“它们不可能成功的。塔 太高了!”

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one ... Except for those, who in a
fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher. The crowd continued to
yell, “It is too difficult! No one will make it!”

More tiny frogs got tired and gave up. But one continued higher and
higher and higher. This one wouldn’t give up! At the end everyone else
had given up climbing the tower, except for the one tiny frog who, after a
big effort, was the only one who reached the top!
