I, the undersigned am a lecturer at Dalian University of Technology (DUT), Dalian, China.
I would like to apply for a place at your graduate school for studies in mathematics leading to
the degree of Doctor of Science.
I was enrolled to study applied mathematics at the department of mathematics in DUT in 1984,
and
graduated
as
a
master
of
science
six
years
later.
I
have
been
teaching
Statistics
in
the
mentioned
department
ever
since.
For
further
study
abroad,
I
have
recently
passed
the
English
Proficiency Test (EPT) sponsored by the State Education Commission of China. This means that
government scholarship will be granted to me for my postgraduate studies in the United States.
Moreover, all my other expenses will be covered by the Chinese government.

of

of
all
subjects
I
have
complete
at
the
University.
Attached you will also find three letters of recommendation by three of my supervisors.
I hope a letter of admission will soon be issued to me for my visa, so that I shall be able to

15-minute
ride
for
Jiuzhou
Holiday
Inn
to
the
Saint
Asia
Ocean World, the longest undersea tunnel aquarium in
Asia, where you
may feel
yourself as if
among
the
schools
of
varied
fish
and
enjoy
the
pleasure
of
dancing
with
them.
There
is
a
restaurant in the sea world, you may have a snack with western flavors there, if you feel like it.
Out of the Ocean world, the natural scenery of Bin Hai Road will extend welcome to you. The
road is built along the coast. Riding on the road, you can see that on one side are cliffs of various
shapes, while on the other extends the boundless sea. The scenery is sure to make you enchanted
